not every body can sad

and some, after starting , for one reason or another, cant continue (illness, lack of supply, work commitments etc)

ive had friends who could feed one child, but had problems with another child. i have also had a friend who couldnt breast feed her first child, but was able to with her second.

when i went back to work, i tried expressing in my break. but 15 minutes doesnt give u enough time (plus the fact i didnt have a lock on the door eek didnt worry me, but could have shocked a few work mates evillol ) therefore i put my son on formula while he was in care. he was still breast fed morning and night. and as he was on solids, it was only 1 or 2 bottles per day.
[Edited 12/11/08 13:49pm]

To breastfeed or not is a very personal decision and folks need to stop judging others cuz they don't do what THEY think is best. There may be extenuating circumstances because as you said there are MANY reasons why a woman can't or doesn't breastfeed. Regardless, it's each woman's choice to do what she deems best for herself and her family. shrug
[Edited 12/11/08 13:54pm]

Oh sorry, I wasn't judging, just didn't know all the complications of it. Didn't know that sometimes a woman can't produce milk for the baby, wow, that's too bad and that's why they have to resort to formulas. sad

There was a woman in Florida who had intentionally watered down her babys formula because she was embarrassed that her child was too fat.... she put the infant on a diet and nearly killed him... disbelief

Too bad that stuff is so expensive. I am not sure how ppl afford to have kids.

It's not just expensive--it's not good for Children. Sure, it keeps them alive, but they really need breast milk.

I breast fed my babies, they never got sick, they loved being near me...and my boobs were so perfect during the time I was nursing. Hell...who needs plastic surgery...I gained a cup size!

I agree.

Some women don't like doing it, but it's MUCH better than watering down your baby's milk.

some women get embarrassed feeding in public. i didnt until my supply settled down but after that i didnt care where i fed my baby, he was entitled to "eat" like all of us.

but i never did in front of my dad- out of respect to him.

That's interesting...because in this case why would anyone feel a sense of guilt or shame for feeding the infant they birth from their womb? How humans have come to sexualize the mammaries can be a bit overboard at times. It was created for sustainance and survival of our offspring. shrug

Why the fuck would anyone put two scoops of formula in ten ounces of water?
We all make mistakes, I'm not saying she should be jailed or anything but why the fuck was she being sooooo cheap?
If people can't afford to support babies then they should stop having them. Either use protection or do the anal sex thing. Damn, that's crazy.
