How Do you Divvy Up House Work? I could just pull my hair out sometimes! My husband is not consistent with helping out. We both work and I feel like we both should take care of household jobs.
In this day and age do you find youself fitting into old stereotypes of family? Wife cooking, cleaning. Husband kicking tires- popping beers in the garage- dusting the remote control with his fingers? How do you stay sane?? LOVE HARD.

Chicks do the housework. I move my feet when they vacuum and get my own beers.
I do cook though, but it's because of my awesomeness. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Ex-Moderator | I’d love it if my cat did the dishes once in a while. Or at least cleaned out her own litter box.
As it is, I have to do everything myself. |

He will sometimes do the vacuuming, cause he is obsessing over the new carpet. He mows the lawn once in a blue moon, makes a BBQ once in a while, umm…
the rest I do | |

He does the outside....I do in...and I cook.
Although for the last 6 weeks or so we have had a cleaner come once week to do the inside.

He does the outside work, mow the lawn, trim the hedges, pull the weeds, pick up after the dog etc. I clean the kitchen and bathrooms, my kids take turns with the rest: living room, bedrooms, vacuuming etc.

For me.....my husband does an extrememly physical job..works long hours....and even though I work too...I don't expect him to come home and cook and clean ... Having said that ..there is not a lazy bone in his body and he is always working on something (not sitting in front of the tv) .....the lawns are always mowed..the pool clean....maintainence done...anything I need doing done. It just seems fair to me that I cook and clean the house (he does do BBQ's ) Now that Im working pretty long hours and only have one day off a week he got me a cleaner ....(and I m the one that feels guilty abut paying someone for something I could do..while he says don't worry about it) I think as long as there is a balance and the right attitude..it's all good [Edited 12/3/08 22:22pm]

My husband pretends to be in charge of the car and the yard.
I do the house. I assign all the chores to the kids and follow up with repercussions if they are not done. It is always a struugle not to just do it all by myself because my teens are not that interested in doing a good or speedy job of anything more than fixing their hair. If I complain, my husband points out that he'd be perfectly happy living in filth. Peace. Love. Prince

I do about 85-90% of the indoor and outdoor chores....I'm not a psychotic neat freak, but I guess the whole military thing causes me some angst when things are not organized....I also do it because when I get deployed, my wife has to be mom, dad, and everything else when I'm gone for a year or more at a time...so its my way of giving her some respite while I'm here..... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I think someone to do stuff like clean the bathroom or mop once a week could make a huge difference to working couples. My friends have someone there every day. She does laundry, cleans, and is a nanny. They can smoke pot with the peace of mind that their child is in safe hands and learning Spanish at the same time! Certainly it depends in the situation. I wouldn't expect to have my wife clean & cook if I stayed at home and she worked. It's just a matter of doing your part, whatever that part may be. We all have to work in same way, and if you're obviously making an effort & aware of the other's needs & pet peeves I don't think the resentment will be there so much. My Legacy

I do all of my own cleaning/housework, I use to do all of my own yard work until I hired someone to do it for me. It's so nice to come home and my yard is all done

His philosophy is that he picks up after himself, but the rest- oh well. He use to clean the bathrooms weekly. Now I have to ask- and he thinks that the dusting, mopping, laundry will be magically done somehow. I think I will look for someone to come in weekly- this is getting out of control- i'm feeling emotional about it. LOVE HARD.
