MARVEL or DC Comics (help wanted) Don't laugh, i'm reading the 'Essential Howard the Duck'. I love the humour (so 70's). I know it was a bad movie, but the comics are well worth checking out.
Also getting back into Spiderman, Hulk, X-men etc after about a 20 year gap.Any comic fans know any great stories i should seek out to catch up with? (i like mainly Marvel or DC) appreciate any help. [This message was edited Tue Nov 26 7:15:13 PST 2002 by Thecherryloon]

I think the titles of the books are "E is for Extinction" and "Germ Free Generation". that should pretty much bring you up to speed. if you like more "classic" X-Men stories, get the X-Treme X-Men trade paperback. but if you're already into buying "Essentials" and don't mind black and white reprints, Marvel's recently upped the stock on all of their Essentials books and put out some newer volumes in the last year or so. classic X-Men, Spider-Man, Avengers, FF, etc. stories.

One title that's a must read is "Preacher" on DC/Vertigo. I think the storyline is complete now, but the collections are in paperback. It started about 6 yrs ago and is just amazing. (Aaron, have you read this one?)

Rednecks, vampires, angels, a one eyed boy, some sick fucks, and Arseface(my fave)!! I couldn't put those books down. Ice, if you haven't read this, i highly recommend it. I think it would be a great movie, but Hollywood would only ruin it.I must say i've read some 'Preacher'.that is one truly badass comic! Icenine would like that it's full of Rednecks!
