migraines are usually caused by poor blood circulation, do you get cold fingers or feet? due to womens monthly cycles poor circulation affects a lot of women. an increase of b12 in your diet, can help resolve it.
green leafy vegetables, steak and fried liver are good sources. as part of my supplements i take dessicated liver tablets, which are an excellent source of protein and all the b vitamins. strengthen your circulation and help with building lean muscle and kick start your metabolism as a bonus. . [Edited 12/4/08 2:40am] are you ready for submission

sonic said: Yup..i get them ALOT. sometimes caffiene helps. I have a migraine pill called RELPAX...they usually work, but are VERY expensive. I use them only if im in agony.
Ive also tried Fiorinol..its like tyl#3 but doesnt make me as nauseated. usually i just lay in a dark cool room with a cool cloth on my head. I hope you feel better~~ ((hugs))) i have had migraines since i was 1 yrs old.... for the last 6 yrs it can be sinus that leads into a migraine... i would take advil cold/sinus first and if that would not work then i took the good stuff... i used to take naproxen but not allowed to take it now... so i take relpax and maxalt.... relpax is much better but i only get 4 pills for a month supply ... with the maxalt i get 4 pills every 15 days.... my mom started to get mirgraines when she started to go through the "change"... when she finished then she did't get them any more ... but if U have a migraine for more then a day go see a dr... oh and change of weather can set it off as well... I started getting them in my late 20s. I had to call 911 once and didn't know what they were until I went to see a headache specialist. This stuff is amazing:
or And you only have to take it when you start to get a migraine. I've also had physical therapy for it and that helped a lot.

Sometimes I can't open my eyes and it hurts to sit up or lie down...I just sit in my bed trying not to move at all and hoping to fall asleep.
I've heard that many migraines are actually sinus headaches. Try taking something for sinuses, you may be pleasantly surprised. You could also have food allergies. Chocolate and alcohol will definitely trigger a migraine. Hope you feel better! I'm thinking my headaches have something to do with my sinuses. I asked my doctor to refer me to a nose and throat specialist but instead gave me medication and told me to try a nose spray, which didn't help of course. I guess I'll just have to bug her some more on my next visit for that referral Rhythm floods my heart♥The melody it feeds my soul

How did I miss this thread?
Anyway, I started getting them for the first time in my late 20s - at a bad time in my life, with high stress and during a bit of a mental break down. It was my 'Britney Spears period'. Once things got better for me, they just went away. But they were awful, I wouldn't throw up but I would lose my vision - not totally but sections would just disappear, my head would pound then the left side of my face and arm (even my tongue) would go numb. I'm so glad they stopped.

When you are suddenly having severe headaches that you've never had before, you should see a doctor and make sure you are otherwise neurologically normal.
Beyond that, a lot of the migraine meds are kinda sketchy. If they work, great. But I've had migraines all my life, and I've found that if I take some naproxen (Aleve) washed down with a little bit of caffeine (cup of tea is fine) as soon as I start to feel the headache coming on, it keeps it from developing into a full-blown migraine. An ER doc suggested this one time, and it's the only thing I've ever found to work for me. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

I had a headache last night that was so so bad. About 10 o clock. I went out with the wife for Chinese food brought it back since it all cold out and about, like frost startin. I came in the house and ate alright then an hour or so later. I got my eyes hurting. They feel like grapes gonna burst. Then full on headache and it didn't stop. I took like 6 enteric coated aspirins and laid down for a nap. I woke up about 4 am. The wife and kids asleep. I felt like a baseball had hit me. It gradually went away during the day. Then I read this thread. Wow. Deja vu.

I have suffered from migraines and these were put down to food allergies. It isn't one thing but a combination of foods
Coffee, tea, ice cream, red fish, alcohol, chocolate and cheese a mixture of any two components of these will set off a migraine for me. 3 years ago (after being migraine free for 18 years) I tried the combination of cheese and alcohol = gave me a cluster headache and put me in hospital for a week! "I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it"
