Valkyrie. Anyone else cautiously optimistic?

I would be very excited for this movie if not for Tom Cruse. It's not that I hate Cruse, but he cannot pull off an accent, so now I have to believe this German dude sounds like a surfer, and Cruse just has a wimpiness about him that makes me laugh at his eye patch wearing attempt at badassery.

On the good side, the story is interesting and Brian Singer is directing. I just have a feeling that no-one would have cast Tom Cruise in this film if he wasn't producing it as well.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I am looking forward to this film, but have my doubts about Cruise as well.....
I've already seen interviews with Singer in which he says that the story in the film is inspired by the actual story, but is actually a thriller.....this means that the film will not be 100% true to the events happened.....I think this sucks!

Yea, like trying to kill Hitler just wasn't exciting enough.

HaHA? I was going to joke that Cruise came up with the eye patch to spice things up, then I looked for images of VonStauffenberg...NO PATCH!

OK. I did more looking...he did lose his eye in '43. Damn, that was too funny to be true.

No, for several reasons.

Tom Cruise jumped the shark several years ago, with the whole Scientology/psychiatrists are evil thing. I can't look at him the same way any more.

And speaking of looking at him - an eye patch? WTF?

Finally, who wants to see a thriller where you already know how it ends? They didn't kill Hitler, so a movie about trying to kill Hitler is a movie with a built-in spoiler.

I'll pass.

Well, obviously the actual story is very interesting for the historical background.....hell, how many billions did see Titanic? I mean, the boat sunk!!!!

I'm afraid that Singer has made an action-packed Hollywood blockbuster out of it....it would have been great if it was an actual German movie...

Von Stauffenberg had an eye-patch, only logical that Cruise will wear one in the movie.....right???

Meh.

I couldn't give two shits about what Cruise does or is off-screen. He's still a decent actor and given good material, should be able to pull it off. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I agree, it would've been better if it were leaning in more of a docudrama than action direction. But then who would've paid Cruises r-tarded salary?

LMAO, yeah - but that was a love story/tragedy. We watch doomed lovers all the time.

This is a story about saving the world from a ruthless murderer, and we all know they fail. Kind of a bummer to me.

BTW, did you know that more people watched the final episode of "Seinfeld" in one night than the total number of people that ever saw "Titanic" at the movie theater?

I don't know why, but that amazes me.

I don't mind if he wants to do all that stuff. I just don't think he has the chops for a role like this.

Too bad the plan did not work out. Hitler would of been dead and the war over.

I dunno if I want to see the movie, probably will. The clips of it shown prior to another movie I saw looks interesting.

It's not Tom Cruise that makes me doubt this film, he's been a great actor in many films, it's Bryan Singer. He's not a very good director in my opinion since his first two films. He's more of someone who thinks of "cool" scenes, but doesn't know how to put together a strong movie. He's also a derivative rip off artist!
