OK, thanks lol geek

I think you might be right, plus I know that planets can have
convergences too...the last one though was in 2005 (maybe? boxed)
between Venus, Jupiter, and Mars?

and in april and may 2002 there were 5 planets that appeared,
mars, venus, saturn, jupiter, and mercury...

the next planet trio will be early august 2010, involving venus, mars and saturn...i had to look it up...giggle

I think maybe I'd better start doing that lol

Cool, we have something to look forward to in 2010! woot!

Venus, Jupiter and the moon made a smilie face biggrin

woot! it looked so cute in the sky!

If you are in the northern hemisphere it would have been an upside down frowning face sad

That first photo is a good shot.
You can see Jupiter, or is this taken with a telescope?

I didn't take it, but when I went to post the one I HAVE taken, it's identical to this one. It's taken with a telephoto lens of about 200mm, which isn't a huge amount of magnification.

This is amazing. I saw this during twilight here in LA and it was spectacular because a plane was flying underneath making a cloud streak under the 3 lunar bodies mushy

I'm amazed that it would look so different in different parts of the world. I guess the moon is not that far away.

That's right, and it moves and we move, so it doesn't stay the same looking for very long!

Right, so by the time Japan sees the sky the moon's in a different position than when we saw it in the US, but would it really look so different for northern and southern hemisphere at the same moment?

what is freaking me out more, is that some countries saw the smile, even if they are in the northern hemisphere, but only the USA, as far as I've seen, got the frown eek
