I know that many of you equal 'met' with 'I touched his ass when he walked by me on his way to the stage' or 'she signed my t-shirt and I told her I loved her music and she said thanks'.
I always consider 'meeting' someone as at least have a conversation.

Lucky! Were they nice? They were checking in on Hawaiian airlines, never talked to them, just saw them.

I will tell you a story about T.I. He was at the station for a listener lunch. A couple of winners got to hang out at our station conference room and have lunch with him. HOOCHIEs came out THICK. Well while TI was posing with two ho's on his lap, the record label rep came out of my boss' office to have my boss meet him. She introduces my boss, the program director, and as quick as you could say hoochies, he pushed them chickens off his lap so quick and started to shake my boss' hand and thank him for playing his records. It was a funny and very classic moment. Groupie ass biatches had their feelin's hurt. You shoulda seen them ho's faces! In most of his interviews, whether in print or on camera, Jay-Z comes across as one of the most serious and eloquent rappers out there. I mean, no "N´ah mean ?" , no " yeah, yeah , yeah", no " knowwhaddamsayin´?" and so on. The only other rappers that come to mind who speak as eloquently are old school cats like Ice-T, KRS 1, sometimes Melle Mel and Chuck D but that´s about it.Oh, and sometimes MosDef. Jigga seems to be dead serious about his business and his musical career. I´m not really that much into his music and lyrics but he´s maintained to keep that levelheaded, down to earth and serious about his business attitude since he first dropped Reasonable Doubt. What was your impression when you met him ? Ahh, not to stray from the topic, here´s a short list of folks I either briefly met or maybe even had a long conversation with : Prince ( walked into a soundcheck back in the days when this was practically not possible and just stayed there and listened and watched, bumped into him several times over the years, know a few folks folks who know him but we never talk about him) Kurtis Blow ( well, he IS a celebrity , right ?) Sheila E . ( what a beautiful and positive person ...this was a real pleasure) Morris Hayes ( this was easily one of the most interesting and relaxed days I have ever spent with someone I don´t really know. Very eloquent and nice and intelligent person, a very good host as well). Grandmaster Flash Sugarhill Gang Moritz Bleibtreu ( we were on the same plane in 1999, London) Eric Leeds ( several times, a very , very cool person ) Ice-T Kamanchi Sly ( does anybody remember him ?) Scrap D. ( well, not really a celebrity but a nice person, at least when I spoke with him ) Manuela Testolini during the NPS days when she was still selling merchandise and some other folks I can´t remember off the top of my head right now. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I did hold a door open for Prince when he came to a movie at the theatre I was managing back in '95. He said "thank you" very politely. I was speechless and couldn't even choke out a "you're welcome". So I wouldn't exactly call that "meeting" him. ..... THE B EST BE YOURSELF AS LONG AS YOUR SELF ISNT A DYCK[/r]

Jay-Z called me out when I walked in the studio. I have a thing to not be groupie -ish so I just smile and handle my business. I was working and talking with a co-worker in the studio; the one in the picture. Jay-Z told me I was being rude, so then I started to talk to him. I was so young. That was when I was working the graveyard shift. Little did I know...three months later I jumped to morning drive. Oh, my boss was such a fucking groupie. He said "what's up Jay? After the show is the after party, right?" I was so embarrassed to work for him. I interviewed him again four years later after R Kelly was kicked off the tour. We ended up talking about Ninth Wonder, the producer. Back when 9th used to answer my phone calls. Jay told me after 9th produced Threat, he told Jay that he went back to the hotel and 9th and his wife were so happy they made his second daughter. Jay-Z seemed pretty proud that he contributed to that. Jay's handshake was limp. I hate when men have weak handshakes.

That usually sets them at ease and makes them more laid back and comfortable initiating a conversation.

Her hair is always ratty and is always in some Rave/Rainbow outfit. TI makes enough money for her to buy some class.

I find that celebs are intrigued by the folks that ain't payin' them no mind. Plus, I don't want to intrude on them so I typically wait for them say something to me first. And if they don't, no biggie. Oh and I dunno if TI has THAT much money. [Edited 11/30/08 13:03pm]
