Yesterday I fasted ... Thats right on a national pig out day I spent the day here
http://www.cherohala.com/ from 12 noon until around 5 pm ... and I made the choice to spend the day doing quite the oppisit of what most others were I went without food for the day enjoying the mountians at around 5390 feet above sea level, watching the hawks soar and listening to silence. I did a lot of introspection ... a perfect way to spend the giving of thanks day What did you do yesterday ?

I pigged out with my Mom and had a really sweet time.
I'm learning to appreciate her more and more in my old age Life has these really sweet moments between all the pain and stress. It's at least some compensation for having to trudge through it all.

I spent a wonderful day with my favourite ppl in the world.
Celebrating, appreciating, eating my mom's cooking. Missed it last year so I tried to savour every moment yesterday. Hoping she has a safe journey back home today.

She had to cut her visit short to get home to take a horse to a sale. They left at 4am to get back to TN. Now the boys are out fishing and I am enjoying the beautiful view of the bay and the sunshine.

This was my first Thanksgiving away from my family and my friends so i took the emergency on call shift for the day.
It was a pretty quiet day so I made myself some turkey drumsticks, stuffing, cresent rolls, cranberry sauce, and roasted potatoes. Then, right as I was sitting down, a lady called about a duck in her pond that was very sick and had almost drowned. Three hours later (she lived far away) I was treating my very first duck patient. She seemed pretty bad off yesterday but she's doing great today!

My God I need my eyes checked. I'm not even gonna tell you what I thought the title originally said...
*pats tummy* I've tried fasting before. It's great...until dad decides to come home with the drippiest most seductive ribs in all of Chicago with the best fries and the little cup of cole slaw that falls apart if you grab it wrong. D= He didn't know, though. I think he thought I was just really full. Sounds like you got a lot of meditation done, though. That's good. =D
