Are there orgers who've died?

I occasionally think about what a quirky little family the org is. How we sort of virtually celebrate milestones in life with one-another. There've been weddings, births, graduations, divorces, immigrations, illnesses, etc. to which we've been privy. But Have there been any deaths?

But not in real life.
Then how would you know if someone has died from the org?

I know of one orger who died who posted mainly in Associated Artists. I only found out some time after he passed away when I found the thread about his death. We had exchanged one or 2 emails over the years.

I asked this question last year.

Back in 2003/2004 when I was still a posting newbie, I wandered in to the General Discussion forum and a female orger posted a thread thanking every body for the laughs and good times.
She said that she was dying and that she didn't regret anything about her life.

She was vague on how much time she had left, etc. etc.

But I always wondered about that thread and that orger.
I don't recall who she was.

I hope I haven't depressed anyone. Just appreciating the reality of the screennames here being real human beings.

I suppose I'm grateful we've not had more encounters with death here.

There was one young beautiful lady... It was very hard on those near her and her love still is here... so I'll leave it at that.

Very thought provoking question. I remember after Katrina when some orgers weren't heard from for several days and what a feeling of dread and helplessness there was. There is someone currently that another orger and I have been trying to connect with through email and by phone but have had no success and we are very worried. Again, a frustrating, strange void. We come to care deeply about people in this family but there is little we can truly do when folks disappear.

There was a rumor going around in the chatroom about a girl who had died after the 9/11 attacks. An orger came in and told everybody that she had died, and I remember another orger being upset about it. I still don't know if it was true or not, but I have not seen her on the org since then. sad
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
