When I'm sober? Not much. There are things I really like, but not much that I really can't keep from leaping into my face. I do find certain breakfast cereals to be oddly compelling. . . Cap'n Crunch. Cocoa Krispies.
When I'm stoned? Lord help me. I've learned to keep edamame around so that I have something healthy to eat. Otherwise. . . I've got a grocery store within walking distance, and it's bad news. Crunchy, starchy things: watch out! The fact that I haven't gained weight since I started smoking dope is a clear violation of the laws of physics. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? in this season! Stuffing Oh, yeah, stuffing. Gawd, I love stuffing. Learning to make bread has left me with a lot of weird, dense loaves that I had to find creative uses for. My favorite is apple-walnut-sage whole-wheat stuffing. NOM. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

They're always served at some fancy shindig where you have to be all proper and only eat one or two. Thankfully I've started making my own. [Edited 11/25/08 20:05pm] [Edited 11/25/08 20:05pm] The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Lately I've been baking it in winter squash, with a red-wine reduction sauce. It's kinda awesome. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

Ex-Moderator | As for me - fancy chocolate and fancy sweets/desserts. I can pass by a regular old candy bar or a little debbie no problem. I'm not even a fan of bakery items from the grocery store. But get me into a chocolatier's or a REAL bakery and look out, I'm done for, you're going to have to roll me home. |

Option 2: make it, it's easy! Fry an onion and some garlic in a healthy pour of olive oil until translucent. Add a quart of veggie broth, bring to a boil. Add sage, salt, and black pepper to taste (I like LOTS of sage ). Boil for a couple of minutes. Pour off about a cup of the liquid, through a strainer, into a little saucepan. Set aside. Add a small loaf whole-wheat bread, a (honeycrisp!) apple, and a cup of walnuts, all chopped to desired level of chunkyness. Stir into the oniony brothy stuff. Turn off the heat, cover and let sit for a couple of minutes. Cut a squash in half and remove the pulp/seeds, and put the halves on a baking sheet. Scoop some stuffing into each half. Put the rest of the stuffing into a baking dish if it didn't all fit in the squash. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Take off the foil and bake for another 15-ish. While it's baking, mix your reserved, strained brothy stuff with two cups of red wine (not cooking-wine crap, real red wine). Simmer until about a cup of liquid remains. Drizzle over squash/stuffing just before serving. Nom! Nom nom. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"
