IT would have been great at half an hour or even 45 minutes, it had very scary elements.
At full length though it was a bit tedious Le prego di non toccare la macchina per favore!

i saw it when it first came out in theaters - YES, i bought into all the hype, but it was so fun! the fake documentaries and promotional stuff was so creative and interesting, and when i went to the movie there was an exhibit in the lobby of "artifacts" centering around the blair witch and it was very effective and creepy...
...then i saw the movie. it was okay. i think the hype was more fun than the actual movie. i think it's hard to suspend disbelief when a movie tries so hard to make you believe it's not fiction. then you get even MORE cynical. a movie like "dancer in the dark" is easier to get lost in because the story is so fake, but the way it's shot and acted is so naturalistic (to me, anyway). i was more worried about bjork as an actress in that movie than i was about those fools in their tents in "blair witch project" and that girl with her snotty-ass nose and her linty old stocking hat.

I enjoyed it. But the hype over it, as well as seeing it on the big screen, kind of ruined the experience for me. It's a cool flick in it's own right. But seeing it on a big screen greatly exaggerated the camera movement to the point where it became difficult to watch.
For as much praise that was given to Silence Of The Lambs, it bored the shit out of me for the most part. I felt like I was watching a movie based a book the whole time. Blair Witch relied heavily on atmosphere and imagination. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was a refreshing break from the norm, and a uniquely creepy movie.

It's a great movie because it makes the unseen whatever the watcher would consider to be the most terrifying. You don't see anything, so you imagine it to be what would scare you the most. Or at least I did....I have a vivid imagination though. right my thoughts too! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I agree the movie works better on TV--like you're watching actual lost footage on a tape you stuck in your VCR rather than on a big screen with lots of other people.

I saw this movie when it first opened, when all the hype was there that it was based on something real. So we all enjoyed it a great deal. My friends and I even played jokes on each other after that movie. Putting rock piles on our front porches, and putting stick people in our cars. The actress in it annoys me, and in the end you want her to die
It is scary though, especially that scene where they hear children laughing outside the tent..and the end is so creepy I would have loved to have seen it in the cinema when it was released

I remember the promo posters were really realistic "missing" signs, with no movie date or title or anything. It did make you wonder at first but once the TV ads started, it was obvious it was fake.

Yeah, I saw it at the height of the mania, and I loved it.
I saw it in the early afternoon, and then I went to play golf. I was on the seventh tee box when it hit me what all those handprints meant that were on the wall in that house at the end. I had to step away from my ball and take a few deep breaths, and I shanked my tee shot into the lake anyway, LOL.
