How Many Of You Go Out Of Town For Thanksgiving And/Or Christmas? If you do go out of town, where do you go normally? Do you go to the same place each year, or different places?
Every Thanksgiving, I go to my oldest brother's house in Raleigh, North Carolina. My parents, other two brothers and their families and I stay at my brother's place (he has a house that is big enough for all of us), and we usually have a pretty good time. Lots of good food and conversation all around. For Christmas, I stay home, and my parents have the Christmas Eve festivities at their house. My brothers come in from out of state, and stay either at my parent's house, or one of their in-law's houses. Then usually on Christmas Day, two of my brothers go to their in-laws house to celebrate Christmas with their families. It seems to work out pretty well, and mom and I can relax for the day, without having to do any cooking and cleaning up. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The holidays shift around out here. I am doing Thanksgiving this year and mom is doing Christmas. We all live less then 70 miles from each other but my sister comes in from the valley ( backside of LA) so she ends up in 3 hours worth of traffic. To avoid this, we've taken to having her come the night before. We kept that a secret from the clan last year. They were stunned to find her in her PJ's in my living room when they arrived.

That's awesome! I'll bet your family was really happy to see your sister there. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The farthest I ever go for these holidays is to Queens, which is not very far. Most of the time, I stay in town because most of my mother's side of the family lives here.
