COMPUTER TECH HELP WANTED!!!

About a month ago, I installed a new Broadband ISP and McAfee AV/Security center came with it, but since installing this I have had nothing but loads of spyware/adware/malware and so I contacted the ISP and they said that I had 2 check some settings in the McAfee Security Center!! Well theres nothing in McAfee that is anyway connected with spyware/adware/malware, so I am now trying 2 find a FREE detection and removal programme!! The only this I find so-called free programmes from various download tools sites, but then after every scan I then have 2 register and even PAY 2 register before each of these programmes will finish the work of either removaing all the spyware/adware/malware or quarantining it all off!!

DONT THESE PROGRAMMES AND THEIR OWNERS REALIZE THAT I WANT FREE BECAUSE I CANT PAY, PARTICULARLY IF ITS A USA ONE COS I DONT HAVE A VISA OR MASTERCARD CREDIT CARD????? AND ALSO I DONT WANT 2 REGISTER WITH THESE PROGRAMMES EITHER!!!!!

So, what I am asking is, does anyone know of any good removal programmes that are free and where I dont have 2 register or pay 2 register???

Thanks guys!!! biggrin biggrin

Macafee should have come with a firewall, check the settings to turn off all communication with the web and run it's spyware/virus scan...

If that doesn't work, throw the thing in the trash and buy a Mac

Both of these are strictly anti-spyware, though, right? What do you use for anti-virus?

avg free and upgrade to the anti malware/spyware version if you need to.

Question really is though "Why should you expect to have it free?"

If you are downloading alot (most of your questions always relate to that) then you really should understand the risks and protect yourself.

McAfee is totally shit though.

The free Symantec anti-virus software is shit too, but the professional one (not cheap) is great.

I use AVG. But the original poster seemed to be having trouble mostly with spyware/adware/malware.

Is the free version of AVG as good or better than McAfee?

I would suggest avg first, then if you have any further adware issues (which you should not) then spybot/adaware , however once the PC is clean you should only need AVG from there on in
