I don't understand why Ashley Dupre is apologizing. Nor do I understand why people are interviewing her and giving her publicity.
Now, her story is she grew up without her dad or brother and I understand such absences can make a girl abuse sex in her search for masculine connection. Except for the grace of the Divine, I would have been her peer .... because for some reason in my 20s being a call girl seemed like a glamourous secret fantasy. 
Hey, Maya Angelou did it. You know, Americans are pretty promiscuous with Friends with benefits arrangements and one night stands being glorified all the time ... so why is everyone up in arms that she was a call girl who got caught with Spitzer. I don't condone selling something so valuable with someone who is simply a client rather than a deep-bonded lover. However, getting paid for it at least places some value on her goods unlike other girls and guys her age who dispense their bodies cheaply to someone they meet in a bar or in Vegas! So, I don't understand why she crying and people are talking trash about her. Now, she's vomiting her her past history about being on drugs and in Girls Gone Wild videos. I"m embarassed for her. nope. it's the husband's choice not hers. he clearly was unhappy in his relationship and decided to seek her out instead of finding help for the unhappiness. she doesn't owe the family an appology. I didn't watch her interview, but I thought she said she didn't even know he was the governor, so she might not have known whether he was married. Not that it matters. A prostitute doesn't make assumptions about a client's marital status. Whether they're married, single, in an open relationship, whatever--that shouldn't be of the slightest interest to the working girl (or working guy). Last thing: I don't think it's clear at all that Spitzer was unhappy in his marriage. Cheating doesn't have to be a sign that anyone is unhappy. | |
