And as an actress; Marlene Dietrich. Love, love, love her in Witness For The Prosecution, which combines Dietrich, Billy Wilder and Agatha Cristie in one movie.
Her entire career is amazing.

That woman can act a WHOLE scene without saying a single word,,,,her face expressions will do ALL the shouting I love Joan, but her movies tend to fall into the "cult" scene more. BUT,,,,this is her finest hour IMO! I hate her movies where she plays the victim(which is ALOT of movies ) she could've been the GREATEST villan ever that graced the silver screen.

PricelessHo said: faten hamama She nailed it in this film... But as much as I ADORE her, this is my FAVE Arab classic dame... Lady Amina Rezq She's REALLY underrated too. I think Abla Kammel carrys her torch from this generation. But ALL of those 3 women have something in common that make them special; they don't ONLY speak for the middle class, they really do speak for the poor & peasants as well,,,,,and with credibility ALSO, I wouldn't leave this lady out... Hayyat Al-Fahad(she looks like a 1998 Whitney Houston here ).

And I'm not fimiliar with that movie? I've seen her in a movie though with Laila Murad, she played a villan(which is not likely in her case) but she was SO convincing, and she had me in tears(as always). Also her role in "The baker lady" with Shadia & Magedah, I don't remember the plot, what I remember was crying when she & Shadia got reunited or something. She reminds me of my Somalian grandma who could also bring the tears profusely with just one word. Oh hell, I'm just a sentimental broad behind this tough New Yorker shell
