I think the worst is 8 Mile. I saw it for the first time a couple of nights ago and it's truly dreadful. How comes nobody told me it's a trailer park version of Purple Rain? ill

Eminem was the only good thing about that movie. He was at least watchable as an actor. Too bad he's completely off the radar these days.

Im afraid Im not going to get very philoshophical here at all lol I just didnt find it as interesting as clearly the rest of the universe does whether it was supposed to be badly acted or not shrug I'm just not into it that all...I don't know what else I can say lol I've seen plenty of hammy kind of movies I enjoyed...Im afraid I just wasnt as entertained by this one as everyone else...but then...maybe Im just a freak lol

It took me more than one viewing to arrive at my feeling for it...the first time I saw it, I was like whofarted, especially since it had been a long-running midnight movie in New Orleans...so initially, I didn't get all the hoopla...but for me, when I saw it again, under a sampling of liquid and leafy intoxicants...lurking...it took on a whole different vibe....

On the contrary, Moulin Rouge got a 78% positive rating on rottentomatoes.com and eight Oscar nominations. Sounds like mostly positive reviews to me.

Mostly positive is not all positive and 78% is 22% short of complete acceptance, so I'll say we're both right.

No, you're wrong. 78% positive means critically acclaimed. smile

I know, right? lol

Eminem was pathetic...even his imitation of Prince's death-stare was lame. lol

I was shocked by how much of a Purple Rain ripoff it was.

lol She's gorgeous but she looked like a 12 year old girl grindin' up on Clive Owen's old ass in that movie. I think he looked like a pedophile.

now hold up....if we're gonna talk about Natalie Portman and a pedophile, nothing compares (at least to me) to "The Professional"...now THAT was a movie on the pedophile tip, for reals....especially when she did her "rendition" of Marilyn Monroe singing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President"....

I don't think it was the intent in Closer as it was in the Professional lol There was definitely an undercurrent there but it was smartly done and underscored his need to love and take care of somebody. mushy Plus he was a lil slow. He died for her. mushy That's my movie and her acting, as an actual 12 year old in her first movie, was much better and believable IMO than what she did in Closer as a grown woman. barf
