God I can't even get through it. Conceived and executed as crap. Mixed reviews. I watched and thought it was dreadful. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

and while i think technically it was beautifully done and very nice to look at, i left "there will be blood" feeling absolutely nothing at all about anything. i wanted to walk out of that movie with some kind of message or internal debate or question, but no. i was just kinda - i think i was hungry for a chunky bar. 'Pulp Fiction' was good. It was just what it was supposed to be. 'There Will be Blood' I retitled, 'There Will Be Snores'. That was a one note movie. Great performance by Daniel Day Lewis wasted. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

God I can't even get through it. I own the DVD. And the soundtrack. I'll make sure to hide them when you come over. I'm not even coming over now. Only if you join Facebook. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I don't have a whole lot of patience for these kinds of maudlin, sentimental Christmas movies. ha! I've never made it through that one either. And while I'm at it, I've never really liked "The Wizard of Oz" for some reason. I just think it's cheesy. They´ll sooner settle to let someone else do the imagining small circles, big wheels!

This was critically acclaimed? I thought the critics slamed this one back when it came out. I like it myself, I can't get over watching Jessie from "Saved By The Bell" get freaky.

God I can't even get through it. Conceived and executed as crap. Mixed reviews. I watched and thought it was dreadful. On the contrary, Moulin Rouge got a 78% positive rating on rottentomatoes.com and eight Oscar nominations. Sounds like mostly positive reviews to me.

I hated this movie as a kid (fuckin' flying monkeys!! )....but when I was firing up different varieties of shrubbery as a teen and young adult....WOW!!! great movie..... Even considering that it's meant as a family film and the standards of the time it was made, I just don't think it's all that good. As far as old-as-crap kids' movies go, I'll take Snow White over The Wizard of Oz anyday. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Don't get me wrong, I love classic films, but this one has just never done anything for me. Yup. I know a lot of people hate it, but I much prefer Return to Oz. It has the oogy weirdness that was intended for the story, and none of the syrupy cuteness the older movie had. On a similar note, I can't stand the older Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -incorrectly titled Willy Wonka. Considering the source material, it's way too fluffy and precious. I know a lot of people have fond childhood memories of this version, but it really is terrible. Roald Dahl himself hated it, and for the exact reasons I don't happen to like it. While Tim Burton's Charlie isn't without flaws either, it's a more faithful interpretation. Dahl was not about writing sugar cuteness, he was about writing how dark and weird childhood can be. Though I see why it made sense to act Willy the way Depp did, I still think the Michael Jackson-esque portrayal was a bit of an odd choice. And the Wonka's dad backstory was probably unneccessary. Still, it's a pity Roald Dahl didn't get to live to see a different take on Charlie. I think he might have liked this one. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
