When eating or talking on your cell phone while driving, your eyes are still on the road, right? How do you text and drive if you're looking at your cellphone all the time? I've seen it done, and you hold the phone at the top of your steering wheel, so you can glance back & forth from the road to the phone, sort of like looking in the rear view or at your speedometer My Legacy

and you're right, your eyes are on the road while eating...until mustard drips on your new shirt...  That's why I don't eat in my car either. | |

unfortunately, you're right... people take the whole activity of driving way too lightly...we're bombarded by distractions as drivers...it could be roadside billboards, other drivers, car stereos, cell phones, etc...in my opinion, one isn't any worse than the other... | |

I think most people think that it would never happen to them. I will say this though: I usually wait until I'm stopped at a redlight to reply But I will read a text while driving. Still bad.

People who use their phone or text while driving are self-important assholes.
