wow! congrats! I think this past june was 5 years for me...maybe 6. One thing that keeps me from ever starting again is the thought of having to quit again. I would be sooo pissed at myself if I one day had to quit smoking again! it's a real bitch to quit so once you've done it...you've done it...don't ever have to do that again
by this spring when the weather gets nice again you'll have more energy and will be motivated to walk more and perhaps even jog. good luck and keep up the good work. "not a fan" yeah...ok

Well done...I'll be 3 years off the smokes this January.
Do you have weird dreams?...My dreams got a whole lot more intense when I quit. The coughing up in the shower in the mornings will stop, that is only because your lungs are trying to expell what you have been putting into them. As soon as you quit your body starts the healing process...just take it one day at a time and you'll be fine. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Do you have weird dreams?...My dreams got a whole lot more intense when I quit. My sleep was really erratic for a while but has gotten better over the last few weeks. I've been having dreams that I'm still smoking off and on too, That's common for all addicitons, to have anxiety dreams about doing it again. The coughing up in the shower in the mornings will stop, that is only because your lungs are trying to expell what you have been putting into them.
As soon as you quit your body starts the healing process...just take it one day at a time and you'll be fine. I love that you know it's in the shower. And I'm sooooo looking forward to that being over. |

I'm getting fat. Definitely. I've gone up a clothing size since I quit. I just packed away a bunch of clothes this weekend I no longer fit into. But smoking is a billion times worse for me than being fat. I can't say I'm happy about it, but eventually I'll deal with that on it's own. |

You're doing the damn thing and you're going to be FINE:thumbsup: You know, I saw an awesome biology exibhit at the Hamburg Erotica Museum showing preserved cadavers... there were healthy bodies vs. diseased ones and it was amazing to see what we look like inside, up close; the things we do to our organs from drinking and smoking ...you really did a good thing, missy . So keep hangin in, I know it's not easy, but 3 whole months is awesome.

I'm quite pleased. This is the longest I've gone without smoking since I started when I was 17. eep! My sense of smell and taste have improved somewhat. I discovered that recovering your sense of smell isn’t always a good thing. There are a LOT of nasty smells in the world. Bleh. That, and nearly everything in the world is too salty. I’ve never been a fan of salt and I don’t put it on anything but now I’m REALLY conscious of it. Sadly, I’ve not noticed any other physical changes, really. I caught a bad cold about a month ago and I’m still coughing and hacking up crap every morning, so that part hasn’t really gone away yet. Other than I’m definitely gaining weight. Which I expected. So, oh well. In any case, yay me!!!!! Here’s to the next 3 months smoke-free! I was at the dentist last week and it dawned on me that I quit three years ago!
