stray kitty in my window well

i think i have a stray homeless kitten living in my window well.
Its not very big, thats why i say kitten and its super skinny. All black with white paws.
Ive been hearing meowing but i didnt think much of it.
Then i was doing laundry and i wasnt sure if my washer was making weird noise or if there was cat in my basement.
So just now i heard some meowing again and i see a little scrawny cat at the base of an oak tree.
Its snowing, i put some milk out there. But it seemed totally uninterested. It tried to come in the door when i went out. It wasnt even afraid of my westie going crazy.

Aw. Poor thing. Is there a shelter you could take it to?

That's a good suggestion. A shelter would be a good place to take it. If it's left outside, it could freeze to death in the cold weather. Poor kitty. Reading stories like this make me sad. sad

not at this time.

im suprised its alive there's a fox family that lives in the area.

but there are a couple other cats that are fat lazy asses that act like they own the neighborhood.

they lay in the road and sunbath. play around in everyones yard. lol

im afraid to touch it if its sick and get my dog sick.

the windows of the basement have a well on the outside that sinks below the ground outside. its probably quite comfy when i have the dryer running cause the duct runs out through one of them.

Is there a vet or somewhere where you could drop the kitty off, in hopes that someone will adopt it? You could just explain that the kitty has been hanging around in your yard, and it's a stray. With the cold weather and the foxes in the area, I don't think the kitty is going to make it. I would hate to see something happen to it. sad

I'm not too sure about that. It the cat is really skinny, and it's cold and snowing out, I don't think it has much of a chance of survival.

notify the Humane Society maybe? I understand the feeling of wanting to help, but you can't exactly go around trying to help every stray cat in the world. Sounds sad, I know, but it's true. shrug

its been the same temp at night for the past week and a half.
if it can live outside ill take it to the vet and feed it.
but if it cant ill take it to the shelter.
providing it come around again.

i mean how the two other fat ass cats survive around here. They have been around for years and look healthy. I see them in the winter too walking through the snow. shrug

Sounds like one tough kitty if it can survive those cold temps. Let us know how it turns out.

nod Calling The Humane Society sounds like a good step to take. I know they're not open tonight, because it's Sunday, but maybe you can contact them tomorrow?

If she's still around in a few days, you should probably take her in to a no-kill shelter. Stray cats can totally survive even a harsh winter but it's not the best kinda life. If you're able to find a no-kill that will take her and you tell me which one I'll donate money to them even.

I love little kitties and I just want them to be happy. sad

This is excellent advice. That's totally sweet of you to offer to donate money like that. I love kitties too. and I hate to see them suffer in anyway. sad

No, sorry.

If it's so skinny as you said you'll have to be content with just a nice cat stock.

Somebody dumped a mama cat with three kittens in front of our condo last week. The neighbors are feeding them so I'll stay out of it and let them decide what to do.

Maybe you could let kitty into the basement until you're able to take it to the shelter and keep the puppy upstairs?
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
