I've seen a lot in the form of fires but today was unreal. I left the salon to go off to school to get a few hours in at the gym and this gentlemen informs me I'd better head back sooner then planned, because there is a bad fire in Brea. I didn't take it too seriously as the fires never come down into the city properties themselves?!?!?!?!!!???

So I'm tootling along and wham! Fire around the freeway.So beautiful, yet so deadly. I'm still not worried as I have this false security, in that, fires don't come down amongst the city dwellings themselves... firefighters keep it to the outer brush areas. Today has been frightening...

The freeway closure was directly in front of the salon. A few of the girls homes were being evacuated and a hushed pandemonium struck. ( There are 150ish of us in the salon at any given moment, at the least.) Word came out they were forcing evacuations up to State College.. (which is our location)

Long to short, I just spent 3 hours making a 12 minute trek home. I watched fire whip into any uninhabited space ,albeit how small, it could take up. The fire departments are amazing....for the most part, they have managed to keep the fire contained to recessed areas between buildings. Unfortunately, many homes have been lost already but it is minuet in comparison with actual numbers of probability if we weren't able to barrow resources from so many counties.

Events in my childhood have long taught me to not think calamity happens to someone else;however, its a stunner when ground zero is your domain.

Flames are now creeping up into the hill...

I heard on the news that Oprah Winfreys dogs have been sent 2 a Four Seasons Hotel!!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! They are only dogs for crying out loud!!!!

These dogs are occupying a room that HUMANS could have?????!!!!! If it was up 2 me I would just send them 2 the local dog pound!!!!!

Erie... I just heard the same sirens pass under my window on the news. The fire is jumping from city to city. I'm so over this! ( Or at least I'd like to be.)
