Don't they say that for the average person it's pretty near impossible to read more than 3000 books in your lifetime even if u read a lot every single day?

Still, that's a lot of books. But the bottom line is u will certainly die having not read a lot of books u'd like to.

p.s. That's a fucking big "I Ching" u've got there. What on earth is in that because it's hardly a massive piece of work? Is it full of artwork and commentary and afterwords and stuff?

I'm hoping to get a copy for Xmas.

I try to read a lot, but I will certainly die without having read a lot of books that I want to read... when I was in school, I would read TONS of books... when my son came along it cut into my reading time quite a bit.

I still read quite a bit though...

AND... my copy of the "I Ching" is massive... it is not the tradition version of the book... this is an 816 page version with concordance.

The huge version is pretty cool, but the paperback will work too... a lot of scholarly types really loved the new version though.

This is the version that I have:

http://search.barnesandno...156619945X

"From Our Editors
Inspired by Jung's insights into the psyche, this new translation presents the oracular core of the I Ching, the ancient Chinese wisdom system, as a psychological tool & a way of connecting with the creative imagination.

Annotation
This first complete translation of a 3,000-year-old Chinese divination system includes imagery and material previously unavailable to Westerners. The spirit of this unique translation is both very old and radically new--a modern psychological approach that truly bridges East and West.

From the Publisher
First complete translation in English drawn from the oldest text available. An entirely new approach to understanding and using the I Ching. Two-color throughout. A monumental work."
