The ending was very sad. The poor guy chose his dreamworld over reality. I like that.

It was indeed powerful ~ it gave that feeling of falling off the ledge without a saftey net ~ I just wanted that quarter inch of concrete to grip my fingernails on. I think the movie works better without hope. The anti-drug message makes more of an impact that way.

Good movie....but to me, when the "leader" of their spelunk told the rest of the ladies that they were in an uncharted, unnamed cave, the true ending of this movie should've been them beating her ass until they found a way out.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

number 23
the ending should have been him walking out in front of the bus and getting hit, after killing his wife. THAT would have been icky but true to the rest of the story. as it is, the ending is so hollywood it's just sad

In the immortal words of Kevin Kline in "A Fish Called Wanda"... "...if it wasn't for US, you'd (meaning the Brits) all be speaking German now!! Deutchland Deutchland uber alles!!" He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

Plus i have to say to you that Adolf had his chance in '40 to invade and fucked up. He should have learned from Napoleaon and come at us instead of Russia. He was broken on the Eastern front thanks to the millions that died and people like my Grandfather running the Murmansk convoys. The issue from then on was never the invasion of Great Britain it was the retaking of Europe. We were already kicking his arse in Africa and then you boys arrived and we started the Italy front.

I'm trying to get the wheels in motion to finish out my career over there at one of the Air Force bases (Croughton or Mildenhall), since once I'm done as an EO advisor, I'll still have about 2.5 years to go before retirement....and I have to go back into my regular field (communications)... ...but if that falls through, my wife keeps talking about going over there on vacation, so ya neva know!! It would have been nice to have at least one tiny little redemptive scene in it. It was brilliant but a movie has never left me so drained, hopeless and void i think that's why the movie was so powerful to me. it was consequence without a seatbelt. sometimes you need to see something like that, to kick your ass and to snap your brain back into the straight and narrow, so to speak. it would have been nice to see something redemptive, but the heartbreak of not getting that wish granted is what makes that movie so...wow. I couldn't sleep all night after the first time I saw Requiem. The ending is unsatisfying, but it was supposed to be. A shininh moment toward the end would have made for a lesser movie IMO. Oh yes, in Mo Better Blues, cut out that whole extended ending with Denzel and Spike's sister and go straight to the closing scene.
