... I get people asking how to pronounce my name though. I guess that because I have a name that's a little different, people tend to remember it. Maybe. I don't know - I can't imagine what it would be like to be called the wrong name. It would seem weird but it wouldn't offend me.

I spend a lot of time talking to people on the phone for work. I do get annoyed when they call me Judy or Shirley. I can understand Judy, it kind of sounds like my name. But Shirley?

I've never had that happen.

lawd being called different names is the story of my life

my name is Kalvin yet i've been called Kevin, George, Mitchell, Ben, Frank,Justin....basically every name there is. mostly by friends and family

My mother has routinely and accidentally called me either her brother's or sister's name, for as long as I can remember. Usually, at the most random of times, like when telling me to pass the salt or something. It's pretty funny.

Okay. Dig this, at my school, there's only about a dozen black girls. But to the teachers...all of them are the same person. My teachers will ALWAYS randomly call me by the name of one of the other black girls. Okay? And none of them look anything like me. At all.

My God, I took the courtesy to learn their name, they could take the courtesy to learn mine.
