No has ever called me by the wrong name,but there was a sub-P.E. teacher that mispronounced my name once. My name is Melanie she pronounced it Ma-laine. I did'nt even know she was referring to me. This happens quite a bit....when I was a child everyone wanted to call me Connie which is my sister's name. GRRRR!!! And now people want to call me Maria? WTH?

My landlord calls me by last name all. the. time. In fact, I don't even think he can say my first name and it's been about a good 2 years now. *___* Never bothered to correct him. I'm so used to it that it doesn't even faze me. | |

My problem comes with people who mispronounce my last name (its Lebanese).no matter how many times I correct them, I get all kinds of variations...
....though the last time I deployed, I was in an anti-terrorism briefing where they discussed someone with my last name as his first name...pronounced it correctly when discussing him, but not 3 minutes afterwards mispronounced mine.. He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
