right?

i might have had dirty thoughts about the employees.

in which case, the employees might have given me dirty looks.

but that's as far as it goes. shrug

i mean it's like thunderdome because there are 5,000,000 SUVs that converge at the same time and the place fills to capacity with soccer moms and their screaming children. there's no 1.50 block of tofu worth that kind of trauma. i go before the feeding frenzy starts. no wonder the employees look filthy by the time you get there - they've been savaged ten times over by the time you get there!

A good friend and I went to Trader Joe's yesterday. Funny thing is, I've never even heard of this place, until I read about it here on the org. lol We were like two little kids in a candy store, and spent like a good 2 hours in Trader Joe's, just looking around. Between the two of us, I think we had something like 8 shopping bags just filled with all kinds of new, interesting things to try. What I like about Trader Joe's is they have food available for purchase that you don't find in other stores. It's a great place, the only thing is, there is not one real close to where either one of us live. It is a good half hour/forty-five minute drive, but it is soo worth it. The place was jammed too, with all kinds of people shopping. I can't wait to try all the goodies that I bought. giggle

love me some trader joe's!!!!! biggrin

Statuesqque

this store was just named the 4th healthiest grocery store in America

4. Trader Joe's

300-plus stores in 23 states and Washington, D.C.

Shopping at Trader Joe's is more like going to a specialty-foods store than a chain grocer -- you'll find healthy foods from around the world, all at surprisingly reasonable prices.

Vegetables: How to select, store and serve these healthy foods
What you won't find: bad-for-you mainstream brands. The store's impressive and delicious store-brand foods contain no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, and no MSG, trans fats or genetically modified ingredients. "My daughter loves their Omega Trek Mix With Omega-Fortified Cranberries, and now I do, too!" Palumbo says.

Pawloski is just as excited about their organic prepared meals. There are fun healthy surprises, too: instead of sugary cereals, they have good-news alternatives, like fruit-and nut-packed Triple Berry O's. Why didn't Trader Joe's rank higher? The limited selection in most of its stores.

I love the Guayaki` Yerba Mate` tea. It gives me so much energy.
The pineapple salsa is good on everything... salmon, burgers, tacos, etc.
I love veggie eggrolls. They are as good as any resturant variety.
Its hard to find anything there that has hydrogenated oils or preservatives, which is why I love it at TRADER JOES. Everything is reasonably priced too.
