Best DVDs to show off sound system?

Usually it's an action movie. Saving Private Ryan. T2. Apocalypse Now/Redux.

But for me, hands down it's now the Band of Brothers 6-DVD set. I'm only to part 5, but part 2 (on disc 1) might be the best sound editing I've ever heard.

I wasn't too sure about picking this one up until I found it for $48 (list $120). (The price has gone up to $56.85 here, but that's still an incredible bargain, considering everywhere else has it for $35-$40 more than that.)

Anyways... what are your favorite DVDs to show off your sound system?

although i still haven't watched the atoc 2-dvd set yet (been too busy watching the hbo box sets, and season one of 24), the phantom menace is great for sound reference (especially for the racing scene.)

surprised i didn't think of the phantom menace...

Yeah, ATOC did put my sound system to the test. other honorable mentions are Amadeus, Fantasia 2000, Saving Pvt. Ryan (DTS), Lord of the Rings, T2, Se7en (very nice 6.1 mix), oh, and Toy Story 1 and 2 sound surprisingly good.

Roy Orbison: A Black and White Night is the cleanest, best sounding concert DVD I've ever heard.

Gone in 60 Seconds and Fast and the Furious are both good.

She thought that you were trying to flirt with her and decided to edit her comment out... she said that she had never heard of the movie...

I will force her to watch it sometime though... just for fun.

Yeah... I thought that it was pretty cool... I don't actually have the DVD, but I saw it for $7.99 at a local store... I might pick it up!
