Two weeks from today I will see my mom for the first time in 14 months

Spend Thanksgiving with the people I love the most in this world

Introduce someone to something he has never participated in, Thanksgiving!

Just a few days away from experiencing something new for both of us mushy

Showing my uncle love & support by spending a week with him so he is not alone on Thanksgiving since losing his wife in April

It's all good!

drinking herbal teas ~ the last normal of anything until after a colonoscopy tomorrow. worried about the preparation ~ the solution is evil and too much.

contemplating my friendships with some wonderful and wise women and a beautiful man ~ so grateful for these

putting together a plan as to how I can help my mom in more meaningful ways to cope with her dementia

watching a few ships on the Lake Huron. the geese are heading South in orderly amazing formations. The Universal Code visable. It is very humbling

it is the hardest thing in the world to find GOOD and RECENT scholarly articles on Judy Chicago's Dinner Party.

i miss my boyfriend.

i don't know if i can do this professor thing - it usually requires you to be a good/great writer.
i'm kife.
after all these years of writing essays, i still can't write worth shit.

i don't know if i'm smart enough for this school thing.
i'm feeling dumber and dumber the more people i meet.

'hi i'm so-n-so. i'm a psych major. i have 8 essays due this week and they're all done. i think i'll up my average to a 90 this semester biggrin'

'oh hai, i'm samille. i'm an artist. i don't write too often but when i do it's shit anyway. no one understands my work and i want to be a professor. i think my average is dropping for sure this semester. sad'

finding recent stuff is hard as hell. nod lol if you can use sources other than articles, i think there's some good clips from a documentary about her Dinner Party on youtube.

and at the risk of sounding like a snob, fuck those other majors. lol art's much more difficult. i used to sit in on 4th year sociology & psych classes for my job when i was in school and be STUNNED at how easy their stuff was compared to ours!

I stayed up until 6 am this morning. It was fun. smile

I have a test I'm dreading this week. And another one the week after. I'll be glad when this semester is over.

I'm going to be visiting with someone very special in two weeks and I can't wait.

My kids are going to their dad's for Thanksgiving and it will be my first big holiday away from them. It will be hard. sad

thanks love hug

i know it's easier theoretically because most of everything else requires systems or formulas and the rest you just plug in yourself...
... well for maths and sciences anyway...

i dunno, i have some english majors as close friends, and i never speak about my stuff to them because i feel so out-weighed in value.

i can't even talk to my family because i still get dismissed.

sad i'm just really depressed that i'm spending my sunday - off from work - writing about a feminist piece of work that i just don't really like.

lol i meant it's a GREAT piece in relation to the size and all the work and for the time period it was completed in...
but it's so contradictory... lol i guess the dinner party in itself, encapsulates the notion of feminism on a whole..

shrug

(see, i know you're an art student so it's easy for me to be confident in saying what i did... i can't do that with anyone else...)

fuck my life, i feel stifled.

OMG, i thought the exact same when we covered that work in postmodern! falloff

& on top of that it just seems very...fabricated? i dunno. she isn't my cup of tea by any means.

just bang out the essay and then self-medicate by reading about something you do like, i did a lot of that my last year lol

oh god, christmas break will be reading strictly for ME. lol

Judy Chicago is a narcissist. She hired over 400 volunteers to pretty much make the work for her.
I can't even begin. It's art fuckery at it's best. (and then there's thomas kinkade, of a completely different kin falloff )

i mean i like the piece because it's so loaded, but i think that's the only reason why.

out of 39 plates and 999 painted names on the floor - she neglects Angela Davis, Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott-King? Really?
disbelief

what's even funnier is half of the women named were never known as feminists, but just working hard for themselves...

shrug

bah, i dont know how i'm going to start this essay! falloff

In the afternoon I watched episodes 6 to 9 of True Blood. Now I am listening to Dinah Shore to get ready for the festive season.

I think I will go to bed early and do lots of household stuff in the early morning, so I can read my new book in the afternoon.
