now say that mum is VERY made up all the time, manicured, waxed, salon tanned, and you know she is married. It makes me start to wonder, you know? hmmm where does she find the time!!! and
why? confuse

lol

I'm not saying to let oneself go by any means. I guess it is what it takes for some women to feel good about themselves, and if they don't do it maybe they feel bad? shrug

I find it a weird thing, I know I'm a little bit sensitive about it. There is an attitude that there is something gross about pregnancy and childbirth and that it somehow taints a woman, or that she is never the same again afterwards, or that she can still be "hot" DESPITE it, never BECAUSE of it. confused

Moms aren't supposed to be sexy. Once you're a mom, that's it. It's the madonna/whore thing.

I think it depends on the person, Angelina Jolie is, so is Jessica Alba. I know they are extreme examples and have help few of us can afford. But I know some mums in RL that are still very attractive.

I agree, and I hate the phrase.

I think thats just how you take it, the phrase simply differentiates women who happen to be mums that are sexually attractive, to those who are not. It doesnt imply that all mothers are naturally unattractive - on the contrary.

The idea isnt that she is attractive despite being a mother, shes attractive because she is a mother. A woman who is complete in the sense that she is experienced through motherhood has always been an interesting theme in film and literature. (the graduate)

It really stems from the younger man eyeing up his mates mum. yes it was coined by the porn industry but the film industry has toyed with this theme for many years, espcially in american teen films, theres always one guy who gets off with someones mum. Its meant as a status thing, the guy is deemed mature enough for the woman in question despite him being younger. MILF is used by younger and older men, certainly in London. Its generally used as a complement.

The strange thing is that most of my nephews have much older girlfriends, like 20 years older and this is nowadays quite the norm. most of my friends also have at least a 10 year gap between the guy and the girl, the girl being the older of the two, so it stands to reason that this term would come about.

Its meant as a complement as opposed to the old sayings like ' god im turning into my mother, or you look like your mum - meaning old fashoned etc

women are younger nowadays and keep their youth, what could be more feminist than that. We can have it all, the job, the kids, the family and still have the younger guys drooling!

and why not, in london its used for all older attractive women as you cant possibly know someones personal circumstance.

do all women want to be classed as the same? do we all want to be part of a mass?

women are diverse and should be recognised as such, this is true feminism.

At one time not so long ago men simply saw women as all the same, we were classed together as a species alien to them. Now men are starting to revel in the knowledge that women are diverse creatures and therefore are interesting to them.

I would be more upset beng described as a wag than a milf.

A wag is someone who has subscribed themselves to be seen as one of the popular masses, a mindless bimbo. young girls seem to aspire to become wags rather than independent women.
