What do you call your grandparents?

?

My mom's mom I call Nana.

My dad's mom I called Granny.

I never knew either biological grandfather, so I just call them Joe and Frank when I talk about them.

The man who married my dad's mom later I call Grandpa.

I call both of my grandmothers Mama and I call my grandfather Papa. My other grandfather died before I was born, but I'm sure I would have called him Papa as well. lol

I only have one grandparent left but they were all grandma or grandpa, though it usually sounded more like "gram-maw" and "gram-paw".

My nieces and nephews call my dad "poppa". I think it's cute.

nod Same with my father's parents, and if the unspeakable happens, my dad and his wife would be Oma and Opa too.

Not really close with the rest, but they were all grandma/pa. My mom and her husband are referred to as "Nana" and "Papa" by their grandchildren already, so I'll probably just follow the herd there.

But shake @ reproducing.

It's always Maw Maw and Paw Paw
I had so many grandmothers growing up that we had to put their names behind the maw maw... I only had a paw paw on my dad's side. And then their was
Maw Maw Dorita -grandma on my dad's side
Maw Maw Ursula -grandma on my mom's side
Maw Maw Boone (real name Enola)-great grandma on my mom's side
Maw Maw Mom (real name Michel-pronounced Me-Ky-Yel)-great great grandma on my mom's side

And get this...on my mom's side, we were all 5 generations of female first borns....I broke it by having a boy in 2002 (the sixth generation) but my great great grandma died in 2001. I waited to have kids. My cousin did make the 6th generation though, she had a boy in 2001, a few months before my great great grandma died.

My mom doesn't mind being called Maw Maw. My nephews call their grandma Maw Maw Brenda and it's soooo funny b/c they accentuate the Brrrrr. lol Too cute!

My Granny was called that even before she had any grandkids. No one seems to remember why, but even as a young woman in her town she was known as Granny Haugan.

Because of this long-standing nickname, her headstone reads Dorothy "Granny" Haugan. rose
