Okay... I was flipping around the channels this afternoon and saw this stuff called "Backyard Wrestling." I have decided that this is just about the most ridiculous bunch of crap that I have ever seen.

A bunch of dumbass rednecks run around acting like wrestlers... they do stupid shit like throw each other into piles of tacks, barbed wire, glass, etc. They hit each other with flourescent light bulbs, sticks, sticks covered with barbed wire... they staple each other in the forehead with staple guns, etc.

What type of mental giant does it take to participate in this crap or to enjoy it?

Does stupid shit like this happen anywhere but the USA???

They do not have the training or the protection to pull of the stunts that they are attempting.

Not only are these backyard wrestling videos outrageous but all "professional" wrestling in my opinion. I do think it takes a certain athletisism and showmanship, but it's all staged.

Real wrestling is the stuff you see in high school and college and not the stuff on the WWE.

Collegiate wrestling is VERY, VERY, VERY different than "professional" wrestling or this backyard crap... those collegiate guys are real wreslers and they would kill any "professional" wrestler in a real wrestling match quickly.

But collegiate and high school wrestling has it's own problems. You have 17 year old boys starving themselves so they can make weight. You wouldn't believe some of the things that these boys do to cut weight.

In high school I wrestled 103 as a freshman and by the time my sophomore year came around I was up to around 135 and the coach actually expected me to cut back to 103. This is when I started playing basketball (A real sport ).

I will admit, I am a sucker. I purchased one of these videos off of the television one night.

When I got it, I sat down and watched it and I really wasn't quite sure what to think. It is extremely sad to watch, knowing that these kids seem to have no common sense. What's worse is that their parents have no common sense either, as a few of the parents were shown in the video I watched cheering their children on.

I then realized how much money these people are making off of these stupid kids who are out there hitting each other with barbed wire, throwing tacks onto the floor and throwing their friend onto them, setting one another on fire, jumping from the roof of their home onto another person or a door that they ripped off of their bedroom... Unbelievable!

The sad thing is too, is that these kids are trying to be like their favorite wrestler from WWF or whatever they are out there now, and they think that by doing these stupid acts they will be noticed and hired into "Professional Wrestling". Not even once using their tiny brains and thinking that, "Gee.. maybe my favorite wrestler is trained to do this and maybe I could hurt or kill myself or hurt or kill one of my friends".

It's funny you should say that. The current champ in the WWE is Brock Lesner who was a National Champ at the Universtiy of Minnesota, and a high school wrestler here in my home state of South Dakota. In fact, my brother wrestled him, lost by a couple of points is all.
