hug Nancy...

My Supervisor is a rude, vindictive bitch. She's threatened by everyone who has an idea different from hers, and she's sneaky.
She also plays "forgetful"- she'll say or do one thing, then swear she never heard of it when a parent or someone complains. She'll look U in the face and lie.

hug Your supervisor sounds terrible, and not anybody I would want to work for. disbelief

nod some seem to have it, my problem with male bosses were them hitting on me... female bosses gave me more attitude...

Ick, I refuse to work for females, if at all possible. They are THE WORST!!!!!

I have an awesome boss. He lets me work from home when I need to, I have a parking space, we get to drink on the job and most days he buys us either breakfast or lunch. When I had minor surgery earlier this year, he paid me for sick days even though I didn't have any. Plus, I have a great salary. I am very, very fortunate.

omg giggle I want to work where you are employed. Sounds like the perfect situation!

my last boss was pretty nice, he never bothered me. he knew i could do my job, so he left me alone to do it.

my husband's current boss is somewhat moody though. he's often frustrated. mad

I don't like working for moody people, because you don't know what will set them off, or how they will react to you.

my boss is awesome. i've worked for him for 13 years. he's one of my best friends, and something of a father figure to me. i can't imagine working for anyone else and apparently i won't, judging by my work history.

he's dragged my ass along up the corporate ladder the last few years, and i'm truly grateful.

Don't get me wrong, I have worked for several (emphasize on the word "several") people who were very nice to work for. I used to work for a guy named Joe, that guy was the best boss a girl could ever ask to work for. He was very understanding, very appreciative of the work I did for him, and never took me for granted. Unfortunately, when 3 of my other bosses left to go to a competing company, my job got eliminated, due to lack of work. bawl I miss Joe, and would love to go back to work for him. But unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen. bawl sigh

The number of jerks that I have had to work for over the years has, unfortunately, greatly outweighed the number of nice people that I have worked for. I've often thought that it's ashame that we can't interview people who worked for the person who was to be our new boss. I would also love to talk to the person or people who had the job before me, find out exactly why they left, the bosses good points and bad points, are they nice to work for, or are they someone to stay away from, etc. It would be nice to be able to talk to the person and get their unsugar-coated, honest opinion about the boss, and what working for them is like. I know that that's not possible, but it sure would make it easier, knowing what I was getting into before I accepted a job offer anywhere.

It just seems that I always wind up working for unappreciative, uncaring, moody, control freaks, and I'm sick of it. I'm really starting to feel that I just don't fit into corporate America anymore, and I would be better off working for myself, and to not have anybody to answer to except myself. Trouble is, starting up and being successful in your own business is not always easy. I have no idea what business I would even go into, truth be told.

I'm still pissed off at my boss, and don't even want to go in today. I had diarrhea last night, and was awake at 5 am this morning, unable to go back to sleep. If I didn't need the money so bad, I would quit this damn job. But that is not an option for me right now.

My boss is great, she is very smart and I am her favorite of the employees!! Upper mangement sucks and is stupid as hell and the other co-workers are snippy and bitchy at times, but what can you expect working with 36 other women??

She spoils me and goes out on a limb for me when she needs to. In return I am loyal to her plus she is ALWAYS training me on something new to make me a better employee. She will get in my ass if she needs to but that is her job.

I have been here 7 yrs and she is the reason why. I work for a non-profit and we are on our 5th layoff but my job has never been in danger. I am very grateful for that.

The thing that makes me respect her the most is that she won't ask you to do nothing that she can't or won't do herself. She knows every job in the department. When you ask her a question you will get an answer, you will never hear her say I don't know!!! biggrin

I've had some real assholes for bosses but I am quite lucky where I am. My boss is chill, he never raises his voice, look over my shoulder, ask me to do unreasonable stuff, or act condescending.

I much prefer to work for a man any day.

My supervisor and me didnt start off well. he made snide racist remarks to me and was mean to me in the first 3 months. However after I complained about him to HR he apologized to me and we been cool ever since. However we know he likes to kiss up to the people that are bigger than him in the business and its aggrivating when he also tries to be your friend...then talk about us behind our backs.

Damn, your supervisor doesn't sound like a nice person. disbelief Even if he apologized to you for making the racist comments, he shouldn't be talking about his employees behind their backs. That is totally unprofessional and uncalled for.

I've only ever had one boss I didn't like and I lasted a week before I told him what he could do with his job - I think I shocked him. He was very successful and nobody had ever stood up to him before. (The HR girl in the office with us actually hid behind her file, thinking he was going to hit the roof (or hit me) when I explained to him how difficult I found him. He looked really angry (or shellshocked) for a couple of minutes and then begged me to stay. I didn't.

... all my other bosses have been people I really admire and get along with. I've been lucky I guess.
