According to imdb that was Vanessa Bell Calloway. Oddly enough, the character's name was Imani Izzi. Even more oddly, the characters name is fully listed as 'Imani Izzi (as Vanessa Bell)'. I can only assume that Vanessa Bell was at the time a well known dancer, or trying to make a name for herself (although I can't say I'd heard of her), and so to play a character emulating herself would've made sense. On the other hand, when someone plays themselves in film it's often because they can't act. However, her list of achievements on ibmd would seem to indicate that she can indeed act. But I still haven't heard of her. Anyway, she's not Iman.
