Yea! New Corals Mean New Tank Pictures!

I really need a good camera. Maybe one of you org photographers should send me your castoffs.

Showing the refugium I just built:

The new Torch Coral:

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Nice!! Do you have a float valve for your sump? Automatic fill is AWESOME. I made an auto. Kalk. doser a few months ago for my 25 galloner. Is your Tri clam going to get enough light on the bottom of the tank? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you only have fluoros for light, is there a MH in there for the clam?

Yep. 3 10,000 MH fixtures. I've got something like 11 watts per gallon.

I haven't put any auto stuff in yet. I still like getting my hands wet. I may go that route when I redo my basement. I have a water line right under the tank and might move my RO filter under the tank and install a fill valve right on the sump.

No, it ties into the display's water system, so any diseases that come with a new fish, would still infect the display. I have another tank for quarantine.

The tank underneath is a place to grow microalgae that will live off nitrates in the water. High nitrates can poison fish and corals so the algae helps keep them low. The algae is so aggressive, it will take over a display in a hurry, so I keep it down there. To get an idea of how aggressive that algae is, it started as 2 small bunches tied to a rock 2 weeks ago.It is a good place for one type of new tank inhabitant. Certain bugs that the fish love to eat love to grow in the algae, then they make their way to the display.

I looked at the pics again and saw them shining. wink

Yeah, when we get around to designing our great room, I'd like to keep everything under the tank. Sump, refuge, RO/DeI filters, everything below, and just the tank serving as the first thing your eyes see when you enter the house.

(not the 25 gallon tank of course lol )

Mandarin's are way hard to keep alive. They shouldn't even be available to the reef hobbyist. disbelief

I had one about 8 years ago, he starved. sad

Everything in my tank is geared towards feeding a mandarin. 250 lbs of rock, refugium with plenty of copepods and amphipods and no competition for food. All the other fish eat vegetable matter or frozen shrimp.

You're right though, you should be able to prove you can care for a mandarin before being allowed to buy one. I have talked many new hobbyists out of Mandarin purchases.
