Sharing my PAIN I haven't logged on for a few days because for the most part, I've been in a drug-induced haze.
KIDNEY STONE. I have never experienced so much pain in my life. It feels as if my side is being torn apart. Wednesday night I went into the hospital, where I received my first ever shot of morpheine. (that stuff is GOOD!) Since then I've been mostly in bed, taking Oxycodone whenever the pain starts acting up again. Haven't eaten much in the past 4 days. I slept through most of Halloween. Can't wait for this damned stone to pass so that I can get on with my life. ...of yeah...and I've decided that if I were a woman, I would never go through childbirth. I think that my stone isn't large enough to warrant surgery...although I need to speak w/ my doctor Monday. Basically the ER doc just said to keep the pain under control until it passes. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Sorry to hear you are in such pain. Hopefully it'll pass soon.
My ex boyfriend had BAD kidney stones too. He had the ultrasound surgery to break them up. But had complications when one piece got stuck on it's way out, unbeknownst to him, and it became inflamed which led to a superhigh fever and excruciating pain. I had to dress him and practically carry him physically to the car to take him to the ER in the middle of the night. It was soooo scary cuz he's such a "man's man" ex-Marine, secret ops, jumping outta planes, laughing in the face of danger type dude. It was frightening as Hell seeing him helpless and vulnerable like that. So make sure you take your temp regularly and if it goes up too high something's definitely wrong and go to the hospital ASAP.

yup those hurt. When I went in to have my gallbladder removed they would'nt do it cause they were waiting for a stone to pass. I turned yellow with gaundice, and the day before they were going to take me in to surgery to try to unblock it I unblocked itself. I remember feeling this pop. Hope you feel better soon! That a kidney stone passing is as painful as childbirth. I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten. From what I remember childbirth sucks ass.

ER peeps sucks HUGE 36 hrs of unmedicated childbirth was much easier Hurry well no MEDS?!?!?! That's inhuman. The ER that I went to was busy so they told us it would be "a few hours" before we'd be seen...but I asked for a bed to lie down in since the waiting room chair made by pain unbearable...and before you know it I was in a cot in the hallway of the ER. I didn't care...I was attended right there in the hallway...and I was given morpheine. I don't know who is doing all the complaining about "socializing" medicine...because what we have right now is not exactly spectacular. The ER was full of people who just needed a regular doctor's visit...that way someone with a wound (or side-splitting agony) can be attended properly.
