I'm a big boxing fan, and I was talking to a mate of mine recently about an upcoming fight and the girl he's just started seeing got visibly upset at the mere mention of the sport. I asked her what the matter was and she pretty much tore me apart saying she couldnt fathom why I could watch such brutality

I quickly changed the subject, but its kinda stuck with me.

Do a lot you find it abhorrent?

I love boxing....especially from Jr. Welterweight up to Middleweight....some of the best fighters in those weight classes..Heavyweight hasn't held much sway with me since Mike lost his fucking mind...but I did rather enjoy Lennox and Hasim trading one-punch knockouts!!

MMA/UFC is cool too...but I get bored with the all grappling matches...when they do a good mix of stand-up/trading blows/grappling, I'm glued to the tube...

I don't like it either. I think it's violent,and it can't be good for your health taking all those blows to the head.

I grew up with boxing...my Dad boxed (Golden Glove Champ), judged and was a referee. As a child I would go to matches with him....so I guess you would say I was born to like boxing.

Boxing is my second favorite sport next to Football, I can only watch that Mixed Martial Arts stuff sometimes, they do too much grappling on the ground for me.

I like boxing. I don't really have a problem with it so long as I'm watching adults box. I did go to a live event once which started with children's boxing matches and I didn't like that at all - I found it disturbing in fact. But I do like watching good fights on TV.
