Neither of them really did a great job this year! Both of them were lucky Kimi couldn't get his act together & that Kubica & Alonso had average cars.
McLaren don't deserve to win anything while Ron Dennis is in charge! The guy is a total flog! A successful one, but a flog nonetheless!
2009 will be interesting though!nod

nod I agree with you. There were no real stars this season. Hamilton was being hyped, eventhough he had lost in a stupid way last year. Back then everybody was excited and pardonned him for it since he was a new kid. This year he proved not to have the nerves of a true winner and has to rely on a no-name ass-kisser like Glock in the last 20 seconds of the championship to secure it.....I am not impressed.

Fauxie

I was rooting for Massa. Felt sorry for his Dad and those in the pits who were jumping up and down celebrating before they realised. lol

Good for Hamilton he managed it this year, though he nearly let it go again. That last lap was just incredible. Seemed maybe Lewis was a little over cautious and wound up getting in trouble, though actually the Mclarens both seemed to lack race pace in the conditions.

Great year for Vettel, Alonso was excellent all year and scored brilliant results to match as the car improved at the end of the season, Kimi was lacklustre, and the BMWs showed promise before dropping off. Regarding Massa and Hamilton? Massa had more wins, but suffered from poor reliability and some bad errors. Hamilton once again waltzed through a season completely unharmed by any mechanical failure related retirements (while his team mate wasn't so lucky), and despite some overly-aggressive driving showed he's got pace to match anyone.

Can't help thinking that if Hamilton drove a bit more intelligently and changed his attitude a bit he'd have comfortably had two titles by now. Not so different to a certain legend named Schumacher in as far as many drivers can't stand him, but I would like to him tone things down a bit. He's only young, but he should recognise that he's very lucky to have been in the fastest car on the grid for his entire career so far. I think every other driver out there right now has had some experience where that hasn't been the case, so he should check his cockiness a little. Still, it's all looking good for next year.

Vettel to Ferrari in 2010. pray

p.s. No Xmas cards for Glock from Ferrari this year. Good job for several laps in tough conditions on slicks, but really didn't defend his place on what was the final real corner of the race. Likewise, what was Kubica doing unlapping himself so boldly and clumsily? Hamilton only lost out to Vettel because of it.

Yes, as response to posts of only two people. There's a clue hidden in there somewhere.

I would not want to go & compare Hamilton to Schumacher yet. Other drivers couldn't stand Schumacher because he was the only one who had the perfect nerves at the right time. Schumacher was the perfect racer, there was (and stll is) no one like him.
The fact that Hamilton didn't grab the championship last year is already proof that he's no Schumacher. And Schumacher always drive offensively, and not like pantspisser Hamilton yesterday, and even then having to rely on no-name Glock.....disbelief

Notice I only compared him in regard to other drivers not liking him. wink Only flaw in Schumacher was his questionable tactics against Hill and later Villeneuve. Other than that, a complete racer far better than anyone in F1 right now.

How do you rate Vettel? Consistently beat his team mate and the two supposedly better drivers (in supposedly better cars) for Red Bull.

Hill, Villeneuve, Coulthard, Schumacher (and maybe even later Hakkinnen).....those were the days, back then fights were really fought on the track! Man, I heard the name Coulthard several times yesterday, I'm always surprised that the guy is still racing.....why?? lol

Vettel is an interesting young fella, keep an eye on him!

Yeah, Coulthard has spent the last 2 or 3 seasons involved in accidents, sometimes his fault, sometimes not. He's like a magnet though. lol

How about poor old Jenson Button? Was top Brit at one time and then along came Hamilton. Hard to judge how good he is these days when he's in the awful Honda. He and Barricello, both race winners in the past, have had a nightmare year with that piece of junk.
