I highly recommend this external hard drive!

The only thing it's missing is the ability to lock it with a password, but tech support tells me this feature is coming shortly as a free download.

Thanks ACE. I'm actually looking for one. I hear all kinds of horror stories about externals that work 2 or 3 times and then later you can't get your data back.....at all!!!!! *shiverdownmyspine*

I've had 3 externals just go south on me after short-term use.
I'm weary of them.

I've been using a LACE one now and it's excellent. A bit pricey, but well worth the investment.

Can you lock it (e.g with password), in case it gets stolen?

My friend just fixed my computer. I had 4 Trojans that were totally replicating. I thought I was fuc#ed. She saved all of my files. I can't believe it.The last time I had a virus they had to reformat the whole thing and I lost everything...I digress.

She also puts external hard drives together. My friend got one from her and it's never failed.

I had an external hard drive that crashed just a few months ago. I was thinking of buying another one, but I think I'm going to go with a good sized USB drive instead.

combine this with dropbox (free) or mozy (paying) as an online backup solution and you're good to go smile
