The new tv season (yawn) Anybody feeling it???? It seems like nothing really stands out. Looks like no real break throughs. Anybody like any of the new shows this season. Try watching "my own worse enemy" (wish they still had journeyman instead), gave up on it. 2008-2009 season looks to be one of the worse (Don't know if it had to do with the writers strike or not). Any thoughts????

the only thing i discovered was pushing daisies, and that's only because season one finally got to the top of my netflix queue.
we tried getting into fringe, but after two or three episodes we were like i kinda like the clone wars show, even though it's pathetic

I couldn't get into that show . I was surprised it got picked up for a second season. Yeah I feel the same about Fringe. It's just CSI but a little darker and off beat I guess.

The best show on TV just wrapped up their season this weekend (Mad Men). Now that it's over, I agree nothing else stands out. The show I actually enjoy watching the most now, believe it or not, is Desperate Housewives.
Heroes is chaotic. The creators seem like they are overcompensating for the slow-moving season two by having too much go on all at once this season. I swear a character has died each episode this year already. Bones is still good.

As for new shows, Fringe is the only one I've watched. It's okay. I'm waiting for Dollhouse in January.

The only new show I'm watching is Fringe so far. It hasn't completely grabbed me, but I'm giving it a chance. I can't believe Journeyman and New Amsterdam got canceled for this crap.
Of course, I still watch Desperate Housewives, Chuck, Heroes, Pushing Daisies, and, when they come back from hiatus, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, 24, Psych, Burn Notice, and Monk. [Edited 10/28/08 15:35pm] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

besides some of the aforementioned shows,
Dexter is going pretty good so far. Brothers & Sisters is very entertaining. Lipstick Jungle, Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives & Entourage are such good tv. esp. if you can tivo & save them for awesome times and i need to catch up on Prison Break.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta....yes...a complete trainwreck...but like a trainwreck, I just can't stop watching!! He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

It's also in trouble and at risk of being cancelled. It's also where my siggy comes from Siggy edit.... [Edited 10/28/08 16:51pm] I'm firmly planted in denial

Pushing Daisies was cute and smart, but there was something about the pace that put me off. It never let up for a second. I felt like an old man; confused, tired, and angry. The star of that show was from Wonderfalls, which had a similar vibe but didn't last long. My Legacy

Same here. I like Heroes, Samantha Who? and True Blood. I keep trying to get Pushing Daisies, but that entire Burton/Depp wannabe vibe grates me. In the UK they just started a new Dickens adaptation of Little Dorrit, which promises to be as great as Bleak House. The first episode aired last Sunday and was totally great and enjoyable. I got some links to the line up of actors up on this thread; http://prince.org/msg/100/287160

I like the pace; it's a rollercoaster ride and to me the most plots are okay. I certainly looooove the cliffhangers each week AND the new characters. I am behind on episodes, just had episode four on the BBC.

I'm also not having a problem with Heroes. Then again, I didn't have any major problems with it last season. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

The only thing I didn't like about last season was Hiro in feudal Japan. I was like just get him back to the present already! Yeesh, what a momentum killer that story line was. One thing in particular that annoys me this season is every time Claire's mom is introduced in an episode, she has to open her palm and make a little flame. Okay, we get it, you're fire-lady.

Eh, I liked Hiro in Japan. I think it may have gone a little too long, but I thought the majority of the scenes were well done. Of course, the fact that he stayed there so long was what really made me realize Kensei was the killer in the present. I've liked David Anders since Alias, though, so I didn't mind much. I'm going to miss him now. One thing in particular that annoys me this season is every time Claire's mom is introduced in an episode, she has to open her palm and make a little flame. Now see, I just take that as a hokey nod to comic book fans. Besides, I'm pretty sure I'd do the same thing if I had that power. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Nothing this season has thrilled me. Heroes while still fun to watch, is becoming an out of control train wreck. They faux kill someone before every commercial break?! None of the new characters are interesting, and this chapter's villain is a lame Soprano ripoff.
Boston Legal is even running out of Ideas, So far this season the best thing is the ad libs in the theme song. Mad Men kinda rocked but its like watching paint dry sometimes. It's just too slow and I found "the Don disappearing in Cali", kinda lame. But the last episode made up for it. I hope Betty get's an abortion, just to see how that would be viewed. Anxious bout BSG, I just don't know where they are going with this. Seems like the first season with all original ideas, and no TOS hanger. But I have faith in Moore. Gave up on Lost kinda, after killing off my hobbit, and turned off the tv after the island got moved????? Was looking forward to a new season of Project Runway after the boring, crappy, drama filled season 5. Could the producers make everyone "hate" Kenley anymore?? PR was never bout personal drama, it was always bout the dress and the challenges, this season was a huge letdown. But now that NBC has won the court ruling I don't know when the new season on Lifetime will even start. I gave the Clone Wars three tries, but didn't care for the animation, or the characters lack of substance. Though I have discovered Chelsea Lately, which is a fun lil show. The round table stuff can really really funny. The interviews though are kinda blah. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I think 'Dexter' generally is an amazing and unique show and it's still on a very high level but so far this season has not satisfied me as much as the previous (especially season 1). Seems like the balance between crime and character development is off. Too much almost soapy elements. Trailer for next week looks very exciting, though.

It's funny & smart, but it was hard to keep up. Sometimes I think maybe people are writing new shows to be seen over & over in reruns. They've seen what's happened with Seinfeld & the Simpsons, and now they figure you shouldn't get everything the first time through. My Legacy
