NBA: Remember that Shaq dunk?

Do u guys remember when Shaq was with the Magic and he dunked the ball so hard that the entire basket support came down? Last night, Gary Payton said as a matter of FACT that the Magic took the screws out of the support just so Shaq could appear 2 break it. He said that the Magic were marketing Shaq 2 be bigger than life.....I'd never heard that before but it makes sense.

Any thoughts?

Hmmmm.....never heard that before.....I guess it's possible. But Shaq is a big ass strong guy at over 7' tall and weighing well over 300 lbs. I can easily see that kind of force breaking the support.

I recant the above statement...Shaq did it twice. Once in the Meadowlands and once in Phoenix. Since both times were on the road, I'm pretty sure the Magic were not able to remove any screws.

My favorites though where when Darryl Dawkins would shatter the backboard glass before they had break-away rims!
