Skin tags are epidermis hyperplasia pure and simple. They have no relation to cancer and are likely an inherited condition. Dan, eat raw, live above supposed par but never forget at the end of it all you are still an animal. The human animal, but none the less, We can alter the flesh, dress up the flesh and we can fragrance the flesh until its lost some semblance of its original origin ...yet and still, we can not escape. Certain things like skin tags, stretch marks, cellulite and the like are part of our DNA and inescapable. You can run but cha can't hide lova.

They're no big deal. Just snip 'em off. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's bizarre. I have moles all over my neckline. My mother has them and skin tags there too. So bad she can never wear necklaces. I'm thinking of having them all removed, but I'm not sure if my insurance will cover it. I hate health care in this country. Health care will cover it. Are you on United Health? Bleu Cross? Both will cover it. Just find a dermatologist who will do it. Most will do it and put the claim in for you--they make money whether it's necessary or not. That's how I got some of my moles removed. really...cuz I been DYIN to get the mole on my cheek removed. It bugs me to no end. Even if some women have abused it as a place to kiss me. Everytime I see it in the mirror, I think of ripping it off. It's not a terribly ugly mole, nor does it stick out far or anything, it just bugs me. [Edited 10/29/08 10:43am]

I said "It used to be smaller, but suddenly grew" and "sometimes it itches" They cut it off within 10 minutes with a simple numbing shot (didnt hurt one bit). Insurance covered it (they put in the claim of course), and I only paid in 25 dollar deductable). Word of warning though. Dermotologist often will remove a mole for clinical purposes. You could be left with a small scare afterwords. Ask your dermotologist what will result. There are specialists (cosmetic surgeons) who can do it with stellar , smooth affects for around 200 bucks, though insurance wont cover that.

Doctors in UK advise that you get someone to tie a piece of thread around it real tight (difficult to do yourself) and as this cuts off the blood circulation in time it will naturally drop off. This is the safest and best way to get rid of skin tags.
I myself have never had any.. they scare me.. I will love you forever and you will never be forgotten - L.A.F.

I'm convinced it must be at least partly due to hormones or weight gain.

I'm convinced it must be at least partly due to hormones or weight gain. I think the book I got the information from did say it was due to hormones. It was a pregnancy book but she talked about the fact that u get skin tags ,so ure probably right about the weight gain as well It makes sense that even if u arent a pregnant female u would get skin tage due to weight gain and hormones PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"

I myself have never had any.. they scare me.. Yeah, the thread thing is extremely hard to do. It's easier to get a really pointy tweezers and squeeze the "stalk" to cut off the circulation. Then you can get in there with a little manicure scissors and snip it off. No fuss, no muss. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes, I have had skin tags on my neck. I had them cut off by a dematologist. I think I have another one, because sometimes when I wear a high-necked sweater, the sweater gets caught on the skin tag. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've seen these on folk, but I've never considered that they'd have a name! ...And now that I know they're common enough to have a name, I'm not so sure I want to be human anymore. Maybe if I try hard, I can wake up a kitty cat. Muse, do kitty cats get these!?! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
