Let's Talk about Skin Tags

Have you ever had one?

Did you get rid of it?

Do you know folks who've had one?

I had 3 in my life. I cut them all off by myself with thread scissors redface

I red somewhere that they may be linked to colon problems, like a precursor to colon cancer? I've noticed that since I swapped my diet over to a much more veggie based on that I stopped getting them at all.

So, let's talk about skin tags.

I have one in my left armpit. I cut it off accidentally shaving when I was a teenager. It just grew back about 9 months ago. It's in exactly the same place.
It's bizarre.

I have moles all over my neckline. My mother has them and skin tags there too. So bad she can never wear necklaces. I'm thinking of having them all removed, but I'm not sure if my insurance will cover it.

I hate health care in this country.

Health care will cover it.

Are you on United Health? Bleu Cross?

Both will cover it. Just find a dermatologist who will do it. Most will do it and put the claim in for you--they make money whether it's necessary or not.
That's how I got some of my moles removed.

I'm on Medica. And it's crap. We had a really great plan here until we switched about 3 years ago. Now it's awful.

PS - I have a hard time believing there is any link to colon cancer. That simply doesn't make sense.

In any case - for me they are clearly hereditary. And they have never been an issue for my mother, other than being not the most pleasant looking. But even so, they're not that bad either.

Well, depending on how brave you are, I just cut mine off.
There was no pain.

And I haven't had any reoccurances. I red that it's also related to weight, but my skinny ass friend, Doug, has 2 of them. But then again, he eats a very bad diet (I hate people who can do that and stay skinny), so maybe it's related to diet?

The sad thing is that if Obama can get something passed, it won't be what it really needs to be.

Sure, it'll be better than what we have now (nothing). shrug

Well, I'm obviously fat. But I eat very well. So again, for me it's simply hereditary.

Mine where all on his armpit, and so was his.
A few other male friends had some on their armpits too.

But my brother-in-law's mother had hers on her neck.

Maybe it's related to hormons or something. Maybe more women get them on their necks? hmmm

fascinating.

I think this thread is a success. It works both as an introspective look into our own genetic lineage, and of course, as a social commentary on big government vs. little government and what role that plays in health care in America.

I have 3. I'm getting them removed by my "piercers" mother. She uses somekind of lazer.

My friends and I refer to skin-tags as "rice krispies"

It's much cuter.

When I trained for a half marathon I grew two under where my sports bra tugged.

I mean them F's, triple D's, big boobies would put a little bit of strain on a sports bra.

But...my ass....oh my ass was literally the shape of a basketball. Round and tight as hell! I swear you could bounce a quarter off it.

So I had a tight ass and some skin tags....SEXY

This thread is shear crap.

Skin tags are epidermis hyperplasia pure and simple. They have no relation to cancer and are likely an inherited condition.

Dan, eat raw, live above supposed par but never forget at the end of it all you are still an animal. The human animal, but none the less, We can alter the flesh, dress up the flesh and we can fragrance the flesh until its lost some semblance of its original origin ...yet and still, we can not escape. Certain things like skin tags, stretch marks, cellulite and the like are part of our DNA and inescapable.

You can run but cha can't hide lova.
