I, too, initially thought Sookie used telekinesis to tighten the chain around dude's neck, but I've read a couple possible alternatives, one explaining that was simply gravity on a heavy chain around a stationary object. The other hinges on a plot aspect that was present in the test pilot that Alan Ball edited out from the version that aired. (But it wasn't Sookie's doing. )

Also, for what it's worth (because the TV writers seem to be taking some liberties), I don't think Sookie is telekinetic in the books.

...Can any of y'all who've read the books say otherwise?

there is one thing that has bothered me about this series tho, some shows were only like 50 mins long in a hour block ..when u watched oz and the wire previously, it filled up the whole hour.

The pig lady was vibrating with the pig after they showed Tara and Eggs meeting for the first time after breakfast and after she swam so it's a strong possiblility the pig is the assistant. We even didn't hear the assistant speak yet so the pig must be the assistant! Pigs don't speak LOL! As for Lafayette, after looking at the show again, his fingernails weren't painted this time so maybe they want us to think it's him and it's really Tara's mom. HMMMMM

Alright, I want in In a few days they're showing a marathon of the entire series over 3 nights

When I did a thread about it some weeks ago-I didn't know I would love the show so much. I'm hooked now Can't wait for the second season

When she stopped the Rats from draining Bill, the guy Rat easily yanked the chain out of her hand.

Sookie knows how to handle herself because she's seen a lot of bar fights and Jason is a big fighter. She gets physically stronger only after taking Bill's blood.

Mack and Denise Rattray, the couple that tried to drain Bill. In her head, Sookie called them The Rats.

For an Oscar winning child actress, as an adult she is THE MOST irritating "crier" I've seen.

The only time her crying didn't hit me like nails on a chalkboard was when she was beaten to a pulp, laying on her couch and Arlene asked her if Bill was going to be okay. THAT bit of crying actually looked authentic.

There are only like 6 black people in Bon Temps:

1. Lafayette
2. Tara's mom
3. The fake voodoo lady
4. The black vampiress
5. The black female cop who arrested Tara
6. Eggs

A lot of people is hoping it's not Lafayette, I hope it's Tara's mom b/c even though she's trash on tv, her acting skills are way beyond any of the actors on there. The fake voodoo lady should be in that car too b/c she did Tara and her mom wrong. If it was the black vampriress, she would have been a bubbling mess. If it was the black female cop who arrested Tara, I just don't see the point of why she was killed or even in the show. I know it isn't Eggs b/c I think he's a pigment of MaryAnne's imagination that is playing with Tara's mind.
