Not sure how the books or series play it, but I've heard she is a maenad. Makes sense, then, that she'd be attracted to Tara, huh? I bet she does try either to enslave Tara or recruit her as a sister. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

In the book, the naked woman with the pig is a maenad and she is a supernatural being. She is being treated much differently in TrueBlood than she was in the books. The whole Tara storyline is so different from the books that until I had read more of the books I thought they'd made Tara up so what will happen next...I have no idea! If anyone wants to discuss the books w/ me...Pls .orgnote me! I won't discuss them here to avoid any spoilers. I'm firmly planted in denial

I actually thought TrueBlood was a Twilight rip off on HBO's part and I thought I'd watch it because I've enjoyed Twilight. My friend had told me about the books, but I wasn't really into vampire stuff My oldest has read them. I saw the first TrueBlood and started reading. I'm one step better than skipping to the end (CHEATING IMHO). But then I'll find I've missed something. I also go back and re-read parts I like I've read books 1-6 since TrueBlood started on HBO. I've also read Wicked and The Book Thief. Those last two books took me a very long time to read. They are certainly not "light" reading like the Southern Vampire books are. I can burn through a So. Vamp book in a day. I'm firmly planted in denial

nooooo!!! According to the books (I haven't read any but do go on sites), the second season should start with finding Lafayette dead...But a lot of things in the books were altered in order to make tv more interesting... I hope not b/c he's my favorite character!!!!! The show will not be as good anymore . [Edited 11/21/08 12:18pm] Um... let me warm up my vocals
