emm said: i have to admit something. when i was about 17 i was in the city for some reason or other. i found myself in a bridal store casually looking around and pretending i was engaged when the salesperson asked me.
 but beyond that little episode i've not longed for all that hoopla let alone the dress.One of my gay friends in another city told me he and a girlfriend pretended they were getting married to do the whole wedding cake sample party thing. They got to sample tons of super yummy fancy cakes for free! 
I've been trying to think of a friend in my city who could pull that off with me, and I think they'd all blow their cover.

I've never purchased a bridal magazine. I picked up one once when I was engaged,just to get an idea of what kind of dresses were out there. (So GLAD I didnt marry him  )
My curent boyfriend talks about marriage more than I do. I wonder if he has any "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

I had a few issues because I design and make prom dresses and I used some of the designs as inspiration. I got married in a ruby red halter dress, so I'm not the traditional "white" girl. When I got divorced I went out and partied in black lace and leather.

I never even looked in one either, nor stepped foot into a bridal wear shop. There was a girl at my work with a Saturday morning job at Abbey Bridal shop. Sitting next to her was as close as I got
I got married in a black velvet dress I got in an ordinary shop at the mall  I let the master pick it out. | |

I've bought a couple patterns I thought would make pretty wedding dresses. But then, I've bought a lot of patterns I've liked over the years - and never made anything from them. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

Uh, hell no. I never had some big wedding-y fantasy thing. I got married in jeans to somebody I loved. Fuck the poofy dress.
Though, turns out he was gay. Maybe if he had been forced to see me femme it up he woulda gotten clear on that a little sooner.
