Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Anxiety

ya know, i grew up with my parents taking me to crazy baptist and pennecostal churches, and there'd be the speaking in tongues and laying on of hands and the walking in the spirit and the blah blah blah blah blah...

...and while i do believe there's some kind of spiritual energy happening there, i really never had the feeling that there were demons being driven out of people, even though obviously that's what we are supposed to believe at those services. even as a kid, i knew *something* deep was going on, but i didn't believe it had to do with demons. it just seemed like those people had issues and they had an excuse to go all batshit and have a big major emotional/psychic catharsis.

i think the vast majority of what we consider supernatural comes from our subconscious and our imaginations, and the small percentage that actually IS supernatural is proabably less interesting than we'd like it to be. lol
