God, I really wish I could agree with this one.
I was so in love with Aaliyah (come on, the girl's favorite band was Nine Inch Nails mushy), that when she died I was rather...saddened. But, the movie being so poorly executed was just an awful way to see her in her last performance, especially since she made the perfect Queen of the damned. sigh

I have to give props to Interview with the Vampire though.
I think it's my favorite Vampire flick, and Tom Cruise nails the Lestate character in ways Stuart Townsand couldn't.

But what do I know? My other vampire movies I like are:

1. 30 days of night
2. Lost Boys

lol

Now see, I am a huge fan of Stuart Townsend. I thought Stuart was way better than Tom. I can't stand Tom Cruise. To me, Stephen Ray, Antonio Banderas, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), and Brad made Interview. I loved Queen of the Damned. Aaliyah nailed that role.

And I LOVE The Lost Boys too! Billy Wirth...yummy...love

I forgot to mention Klaus Kinski in Werner Herzog´s version of Nosferatu. Kinski was great.

kinski was great in all those old werner herzog movies, but nosferatu is one of my favorites. nod

You really seem to dig those Kinski/Herzog films. So do I . Did you know that Kinski made a sequel to Nosferatu without Herzog´s involvement ? It´s called Nosferatu in Venedig ( = Nosferatu in Venice ) and it got extremely bad reviews back when it came out but it is considered a rarity these days and is very hard to find.
Some say never mind what the critics say, this movie is a must-see but I have yet to watch it and couldn´t find it anywhere up to now. It is supposed to be one of the most interesting and weirdest vampire movies out there.

( Kinski also did a movie called Paganini which is very difficult to watch due to the natural lighting. This was a vanity project without Herzog. I also love Aguirre and Fitzcarraldo. Kinski was a true genius and his interviews are legendary.....if you happen to speak German, go check them out on YouTube...even if you don´t understand German, they are really interesting to watch)

Remember Grace Jones' Vamp?

[Edited 10/23/08 16:07pm]

No, but I want to see that.

I would say "Bram Stocker's Dracula". What was the public reaction to this one? I know my mother loves it. Did hardcore fans of the original think it was too much, too flashy?

Shadow Of The Vampire might be the best vampire film I've seen. But I do like watching the big Hollywood version of Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman. Near Dark is close behind those two.

The worst vampire movies I've seen:

John Carpenter's Vampires
Love At First Bite
Once Bitten
Vamp
Lost Boys

Adrian Pasdar stars in it. So does a lot of Cameron's regular stable of actors.

My favorite vamp movies are probably Interview with the Vampire, Martin, the two Fright Nights, the Hunger and the original Nosferatu.

My favorite Dracula movies, though, would be the original Bela Legosi version and any played by Christopher Lee.
