TWILIGHT - the movie

My cousin's girlfriend is all into the TWILIGHT books so we decided to go see the movie. We bought tickets for a midnight screening of it last night. Yes, I have 3 hours of sleep today.

I knew a little bit about it. I just didn't know that the target audience was 12-17 year old girls. Lawd!!!! I felt like a pervert waiting in line (starting at 6pm) waiting for my cousin and her girlfriend to show up. AND all the screaming. "EDWARD, BIT ME!!!" "EDWARD, I LOVE YOU!!!" and this was before the movie started.....I swear I was at one giant slumber party.

The movie was pretty fun.
One of the guys was HOTTTTT!!!! He was part of Edward's family. He looked like a football player. I forgot his name.

What a horrible movie. It looked so cheap and unprofessionally made. I never read any of the books, but all I know is this movie stunk. Looked like it belonged on a teen cable channel. Acting was horrible. Seemed rushed, even though the movie is 2 hours long. Special effects were so cheesy. Worst movie I've seen in the theaters all year. I don't think there was anything good about the movie.

I found the first half of the movie really intense as far as the sexual chemistry between the two leads. I was like "Oh my God....wow."

Please don't compare Twilight to a near perfect TV series like Buffy.

That's the best part of the book!!! The writer does an absolutely amazing job of building the sexual tension, particularly from a teenage girl's perspective. I said something about it in the other thread, but it reminded me what it was like to be that age and in love, when just the very idea of a kiss is enough to make your head explode, when foreplay IS the climax.
Sadly, the series goes down from there. It's tolerable, but it's mainly a guilty pleasure for me.

It's funny Carrie. I've gone full circle. That's the kinda love I'm looking for right now. The awkwardness, the true excitement and the anticipation of the first time holding hands and kissing.....

Silly, I know but I wont stop looking for that.

I'm so into scary movies and vampire stuff. Something about seeing the preview just didn't want me to go see it. I guess the vibe I got it's made for a young audience (guess I was right after reading some of the comments here)

It's neither scary, nor much of a vampire story. lol It's mostly just a teen romance with some of those elements worked in.

I didn't want to fight the crowds to see it first thing. I think I'm going to see it tomorrow if it's not sold out. lol

Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire/TrueBlood books/movie/tv show are TOTAL guilty pleasures for me.
