A 1976 Mercedes 230e like the one above. Paid cash for it to my sheisty neighbor. The car was cosmetically immaculate. But the transmission was in total non-working order. I grossly -- embarrassingly -- underestimated the cost of repairs.

A huge london blue topaz and diamond ring, as a present to myself after my first really hideous breakup. I wear it all the time. Love it. Glad I was stupid enough to buy it.
