Honor thy Father.

Here is a very sad and powerful article about tragedy. This really hits home since I am from and live in the SF Bay Area and am familiar with the teams mentioned and it was prominent on the local news here for a while.

After her Father was murdered at halftime of one of her games, a high school hoops star questioned her love of the sport.

Like father, like son, it's a pity ...
Murdered in the same damn city.
Slain by the hands of a brother
Who didn't get the message we should love one another.
It was at that hour, I screamed Black Power.
Will there ever be unity ...
In this community?

Yeah, I saw this story last week on E:60. The most tragic thing was that her grandfather who was also a social activist was gunned down in the neighborhood. So both father and son were killed needlessly. disbelief

It is very sad. Two very brave men trying to make a positive difference. That whole area is just out of control now.

You are so right.

The Sad thing is everything is getting so much worse. The area mentioned in the article is totally out of control and Oakland and Richmond right across the Bay is not far behind.

These are the stories you see on the local news almost daily from this area:

14-Year-Old Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter In Bayview Shooting

http://www.ktvu.com/news/...etail.html

SAN FRANCISCO -- A 14-year-old boy who allegedly fatally shot a 16-year-old girl during a fight last week in the city's Bayview District has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The San Francisco District Attorney's Office filed the charges Monday in juvenile court. The boy's name is not being made public.

The shooting happened blocks from Candlestick Park, near the Alice Griffith housing development, just after 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, police said.

Police said a fight that had happened earlier re-erupted blocks away, near the intersection of Third and Hollister streets, and 16-year-old Jonisha Tucker was struck by gunfire.

Tucker was not the intended target, police said. She died Thursday at San Francisco General Hospital.

Police have said the fight was gang-related.

The boy suspected in the shooting, who is also a San Francisco resident, was arrested after the crime.
